Petros is Pete's birth name but that doesn't mean you should be calling him that.

Are you going to call Andy Roddick Andrew? Is Bob Bryan Robert?

Why not since it's their birth name.

No. The question is: "why would you?" Since nobody uses those names, including their own family and they themselves.

But of course, you've already said in the past that somehow YOU feel it's important to acknowledge his Greek heritage. Yet, again, he nor his family it is important to do so IN THIS WAY.

But we all know that in reality, you feel that it is insulting to Sampras to use this name (which is really quite an ugly prejudice on your part), and you get off on doing this and being a contrarian. That is simply sad.

The only person who called Sampras Petros is Conquistador. I have NEVER EVER heard anybody else call him with that name.

Do names really matter? You know who he's talking about, just answer the question.

Yes, it does matter. It is disrespectful to call a player with the name that they don't use anymore. It's all about respect, and anyone who answer this question is being disrespectful to Sampras.

Both have said that Federer is the GOAT. At least Pete did before he got hurt feelings and flip-flopped.

And BTW, severus is Conquistatroll, as he is the only one ignorant enough to insist on calling Pete Sampras Petros.

It matters to serverus, he had repeatedly started threads in which his only real interest was to use the name "petros". He isn't particularly interested in the "question", or he'd let up on the ridiculous obsession with using a name that nobody uses, including Sampras' family.
