Default Beer and Tennis

Go well together.

I'm not kidding. Stats don't lie. Better first serve percentage and more winners. I am talking doubles, so exertion isn't a problem.

I did it on a wild hair. Had a beer before the match, Strong IPA 7.2 ABV, and had one for each set. Was definitely buzzed, but not inebriated. On three occasions so far.

Sortof counterintuitive. Go figure.

one drink improves performance for any sport you play, or so I've heard.

I play better at golf when I have 1 or 2 beers. I play relaxed. Never thaught about doing it for tennis. Makes sense.

Truer statements if I have ever seen.
When you get a few in you, and especially if you're driving, you're are more aware when doing so than if you were not drinking.
So I do condone this message: Do Drink and Play!

It's always funny, and ironic, to me when people attempt to appear witty and clever with their use of sarcasm, but just end up looking like a jerk.

I would not try it competitively, but for fun I agree with you.
There is a local park that actually had a mens round robin on Friday nights with all the beer you could drink for $10.00
They stopped it years ago, I assume for the potential liability. Damn sleazy lawyers know how to ruin everything.

I like playing with a little bit of a buzz (not competitively), but I hate it when 2 or 3 of us are swigging beers and playing for fun and one guy is staying sober and being all competitive!

Nerve tonic. Keeps you from decelerating in the hitting zone, especially on second serve.

Sorry Trainer but this is definitely not a message that should ever be promoted. I'm pretty sure the pro's also disagree with your conclusions, as do most parents (myself included).

I can understand how a little alcohol might help you relax and I've heard this argument before from numerous people, a good number of whom I regularly play tennis with. My observations are that while their service motion might be slightly more relaxed, their accuracy isn't improved (in fact it might be slightly worse...hard to quantify). As for any shots involving a moving ball, their consistency suffers noticably.

Not buying it....not even close.

Strangely, I've always played really good tennis when I drank the night before.

I play my best when I know there is a cold beer waiting in the fridge at the club for when the match is over.

Years ago, a friend and I tried playing with a small drug of our choice---I chose a half bottle of beer---he chose a small hit of marijuana. We were equal 4.0 players, and after indulging, we both thought we were really in the zone. In the end, I beat him, probably because he was really zoned OUT instead....

I never used to drink when playing poker but found about six months ago that one before starting to play and then one that I nurse slowly through the game relaxes me enough without tiring me so that I stick longer with some marginal hands and fill enough of them that I'm doing much better overall.

It only comes in one color. The Argentinians have perfected the Malbec in recent years. Some outstanding stuff coming from there.

Only with dinner assuming no tennis later in the evening.

I've played my best tennis with a bunch of beer in me. As sad as that may sound, it really works.

I have found that imbibing alcohol and playing tennis do not mix well. (Unless, I am very indifferent to how well I play.)

Alcohol does not improve one's mental or physical abilities otherwise the pros would drink beer or wine during changeovers instead of energy drinks.

If you are goofing around in a casual match, a beer or two won't matter because you are playing for laughs.
