I think the fighting is a "macho", guy thing. I don't think they seriously want to injure each other. Then again, I'm just a girl. Please keep up the reports.

I get it.... to me its ridiculous, the fighting it should have no place in sports whatsoever. I know I'll probably sound exaggerated but this crap world of today is filled with violence, real violence and its just stupid to allow fightin as part of a sport such as hockey.

Ya, Colorado is out of nowhere. Also, you can use a shady internet source to watch on gameday. You're welcome.

i think it depends how you grow up. I grew up in a hockey town. Every friend was a big hockey fan and we got together for them since I was little. We view the fighting as part of hockey. Its one of the things that makes hockey alot better than other sports. We get excited when two guys start fighting each other. Some of my biggest memories is from huge brawls where the goalies would start going at it.

Pittsburgh not a surprise. Stanley cup win last year and finals year before. If you watch them they are the best team out there right now.

Colorado is a huge surprise. They are an out of nowhere team. I mean they have 2 teenagers on there team that are doing good. Plus you have older guys playing well and its just clicking for them. I hope Darcy Tucker gets back soon for them as everyone likes seeing teams get back to a high level after having down years.

Phoenix is in the same boat. Just a huge shocker. Everyone expected them to struggle especially with the team not knowing where they are gonna end up by the end of the year. Plus their goalie is just lights out right now. Did not see them coming out of nowhere.

Finally, stars game tonight. Im sure the players like it, but as a fan 4 days between games is to much.

Oh and tonight is a rare game for Dallas vs the Leafs. To bad they're not better this year. The stars better win, but I hate seein a team with as much history as Toronto being the bottom dweller in the league.

update
stars beat the leafs 4-3 in OT. not the best win, but its 2 pts. and finally an OT win.

Look at Toronto picking up points in back to back games. There might be life in them yet. Im picking a big upset for them to beat Montreal on Saturday. There on a roll and Montreal just got steam rolled by Pittsburgh.

I dont know much about the east, so I dont know how good the Habs are, but I'll be pulling for Toronto in that one. They're my favorite out of the Canadian teams.

I like Toronto and Edmonton for Canadian teams. The others I dont care to much about. Toronto I watch on Saturdays due to NHL Network carrying hockey night in Canada. Edmonton I like because I had breakfast with Khabibulin once. One of the nicer guys I have ever met so I pull for him where ever he goes.

Yeah I like Khabibulin, have always heard alot of good things about him off the ice. But as a diehard Stars fan, I really dont like the Oilers. lol

Stars are playing the Panters right now. So far, 5 minutes INTO the 2nd period, its 4-3 Florida. Within the first 16 minutes of the first, the Stars had given up a hat trick to one of the Panters. then they scored 2 goals in the last 3 minutes to make it 3-2 at the break. they both teams have scored in the first 5 minutes of the second. crazy game....

Hawks update: they lost to Nashville 2-0, having a 6-on-4 in the last 1:30 but failing to score and failed to keep the puck out of Nashville's hands, who scored the decider with 4 seconds left. Then Patrick Sharp scored to beat the Canadiens 3-2.

not a bad day for hockey.

Boston wins a good 2-0 over Edmonton. They are starting to look like a much better team overall. The young kids that came up are skating hard and getting the teams energy back up.

Toronto gets another point with a shoot out loss. Everyone can take a second to laugh at Montreal fans as they chanted "nah, nah, hey,hey goodbye" with 3 mins left and then Toronto scores 2 goals and forces ot. I have said it before but Montreal has the worst fans in the NHL.

stars beat the canucks tonight 2-1. canucks were playing what is basically their 3rd string goalie and he looked amazing. really promising young tender in my opinion

i do have a gripe with the NHL though. whats up with the scheduling? the stars had 3 days off, then played wednesday, tonight in dallas, and have a game tomorrow in Minnesota. After that they have another 4 day break. Before the game wednesday they had a 3 day break. why are they having to play 3 games in 4 nights followed by 3 or 4 day breaks? just doesnt make sense to me. I know its an Olympic year and so they have to cram some games in, but why not space it where the teams have a day to travel instead of making a team go from say Texas to Minnesota overnight???? Just doesnt make sense to me....

Ugh..... the Blackhawks lose to the Coyotes and then lose a SO against Colorado. Whatever's going wrong there needs to be fixed ASAP.

Thanks for the updates guys. I wonder if the Canadiens will ever win another Stanley Cup. Superfly-I hope your 'hawks can come around (they are the team in the league that has gone the longest without winning a title right? Also my brother lives in Ill, so I kind of have to cheer for the hawks-even though he is a Devils fan. ) I'd like to see team Canada win the Gold medal @ the Olympics-wouldn't that be awesome?????
