I still love Andre Agassi

He's the reason I picked up a racquet in the first place back in '89. A rebel, hero, inspiration, and one of the greatest of all time! I just saw a clip of him talking to Katie Couric about how sometimes COMPASSION is needed rather than CONDEMNATION (such as Martina N and some other pros have been doing) I'm proud he came forward with the truth and his accomplishments are not tainted, at least not to me.

Most importantly, I admire all the work Andre has done off the courts, for children and those in need. Long live Andre!!! I'm sure you'll get through this and rise above. Stray strong my friend.

Get through and rise above what? He wouldn't have revealed this info if there hadn't been beaucoup de dollars involved. The guy's human.

I never hated Agassi, but I didn't like him either. He was a good tennis player who matured into a good man. I still say he needs to go back to running his school and raising his kids.

My opinion of Agassi has not changed. I was not a big fan, but still I do not hate him. (He was never as good as Rosz, the true ultimate GOAT.)

I read some excerpts in People magazine. Sounds like psychological child abuse by his father.

I think you're way, way off. It isn't just about the money.

Think about it: his book would have sold fine without the drug admission. The stories about his crazy father, the toupee, dishing it out to Jimmy Connors--that stuff sells books.

No, the only the way you can explain his drug admission, in my opinion, is as an honest attempt to be true to his own life.

I agree 100%. The Martina comments are ridiculous--comparing AA to Clemens.

Tennis should be thanking AA for showing us that our sport is by no means immune to these types of scandals.

Someone tell me when the media is going to stop blasting only AA for lying and go after the ATP for believing some lame letter from AA without further questioning. I ask again: if a journeyman had failed a test, would the ATP care at all about some lame letter he wrote?
