I have recently been given a racket from a company called Spin and it is the G-350 model however I can find the stringing information nowhere. It is a tennis elbow preventing racket apparently, and the mains go write into the throat of the racket and it says on the side to string the mains a lot tighter than the crosses. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this racket and could tell me the percentage difference or indeed how to string it at all!

Your racquet is indeed a very unusual stringing pattern. Below are the entire instructions. String as 2 piece only. Racquet:SP.IN G 350 Length 2pc:27'6" x 19' (you need 46'6" of string, so a suggestion is to use string from a reel, just a thought,as 40' set you will be short) Pattern: 20x19 Start M's: H Tension: 60-65 lbs. (M's) and 43-47 lbs. (X's). Maintain a 22-23 lb. tension difference between M's and X's. Pattern (Mains): 20M x 19X (18X above/1X below throat piece). Starting at center point of the 27'6" length, begin M's at head. Loop 1LM (center left main) around string post (at bottom of throat piece), back to head (at 2LH). Repeat the procedure from 1RH to post to 2RH. (1LM/1RM will loop through the throat piece in the grooves closest to center.) Note that 1LM, 3LM, 5LM and 7LM will pass under the post and return (forming 2LM, 4LM, 6LM and 8LM respectively) over the post. 1RM, 3RM, 5RM and 7RM will pass over the post and return (forming 2RM, 4RM, 6RM and 8RM) under the post. Main's can be tensioned (and clamped) at the head only. Due to the unusually long string length, the manufacturer recommends double pulling the M's. Continue M's, skipping 7H, 9H, 11H, 12H, 14H and 15H. All M's except outer (10LM/10RM) main will run through the open throat piece. The center 8 mains will loop through bottom post. 9LM/9RM will NOT wind around the post but rather will go through bottom most grommet hole (below throat piece). Loop up to next grommet hole (directly above throat piece) to form 10M. Finish 10M at head at 16LH/16RH and tie-off both sides at 13RH/13LH. Pattern (Crosses): Start X's at top at 7T. (Shared hole: 16H only.) String X's normally to 17X, then loop down below throat piece and string 19X. (Note: this string cannot be clamped or tensioned. Be sure 19X is woven similarly to 17X.) Then loop back up and weave 18X, tensioning normally. Tie-off at 4T (on 17X). Note: A special clamp is necessary for Ektelon, Winn (and similar) and Prince users, due to the extreme 'starburst' angle of the mains. This clamp is unnecessary for machines with 360 degree swivel clamps. Hope this helps! Jim Last edited by jim e : 11-08-2009 at 09:44 AM. |

This reminds me of when I went into a big box store, and the stringer there was installing 2 strings and pulling once, with all the mains and crosses, all while talking to the customer, explaining how fast he can string, and the great # of racquets he does. It was enough to make you sick, as all of his jobs are not done properly, as this double pulling is bad practice, and should only be done when instructed to do so, like in the rare instances like on the mains listed on your racquet. The instructions are straight foward, and should not be a problem . Any questions post here, and I will try to help as much as I can. Good luck! jim |
