Default Players In Timed Matches: How Often Do You Time Out?

This year, I played in leagues with 2-hour limits and 90-minute limits. It was unusual for one of my matches to time out.

In the 2-hour league, I played 32 doubles matches and one singles match. Only one match was not completed (6-7, 7-6), and the opponents began stalling the minute they won the first set. (The stalling was quite brazen: Drinking and chatting on Coman tiebreak changeovers, having conferences after every point when server was ready, etc.) All of the other matches were completed.

In the 90-minute leagues, I played six doubles matches. All matches were finished.

For me, timed matches haven't been much of a factor in how my matches have turned out or how enjoyable they have been.

in mixed and 4.5, rarely and the few times it becomes an issue we end the 2nd set early....say it is 3-2...if the next game goes to 4-2 then team up wins...if 3-3 we go straight to tiebreak for set.

in 5-0 it seems to be much more of an issue and we have continually had to curtail the 2nd set.

I 'time out' quite frequently...even more than you can tell by my record, because the unfinished 10-pt tiebreak still gets recorded 1-0 even if you don't finish it. I'm a slow start, and very often would lose the first set quickly, win the second, and run out of time in the match tiebreak.

You time out in singles more often than doubles, right?
