Default Washing 101

just got a bunch of new gear. whats the best way to wash colors so they stay vibrant and looking new?

colors? whites?

how about clothes with both white and colors?

Colors: wash on delicate cycle, cold wash/cold rinse, with Tide detergent

Whites: same as above but add oxy clean or bleach alternative (I only use half the recommended amount and it seems to work fine)

hey thanks goran. also any ideas on this one?

I got a great deal on some really white addidas shorts (the classic kind) about 1/2 off because they had a couple of stripes of pen marks (lines).

I've been swimming with them a couple of times and the lines are already less obvious. Any ideas on how to remove pen marks?
