That said, why is it ok for Federer to lose because he plays poorly but not Nadal? I think it's hilarious some people just won't let it count for both players. I think clearly both players tend to lose to other players when they both play below their best. Federer and Nadal at the top of their game is leagues better than the rest of the tour in general.
Superb post!

Oh isn't that comfortable. Nadal reaches non-clay slam finals when Federer is past his prime. Heck, Nadal only reached the AO final in 2009 and is yet to reach the USO final, and that's peak Nadal! Federer has reached RG finals 4 times already.

I would have liked to see Nadal in the final of the USO 2006 or AO 2007 against Federer, I'm not so sure Nadal would "tend to win on all surfaces" against that Federer.

Paris hasnt been kind to him too many times

Was great to see him win the biggest tennis event there at last.
Great consolation after losses.

As long as he wins the WTF I don't really care about Paris.

By the pattern he should win this year - he won 03, 04, lost 05, won 06, 07, lost 08, so this year and next year he should win

I think Federer's in his prime, but he's not in his peak.

When people look back at Fed's career, any year he is winning slams is a "prime" year.

The best of those years are his "peak".

So far, Fed prime = 2003-2009 and Fed peak = 2004-2007

There is some truth in what he says.

Federer's 5-set record against top players is a bit suspect (Del Potro was still a kid at FO, and Roddick is Roddick after all).

He's trying to be funny...an excuse for losing in tennis is trying to justify your lose with something irrelevant like "he doesnt try" or "he let him win".

Can you honsetly look at Fed's ground game and say he's in his prime?
Serve-wise, he is, and he's also proved to be mentally strong in some of the matches (although a mental midget in others), but his strokes are nothing like they used to be. Flashes here and there (Cincy 2009) don't count. Most of the time he's just not hitting the ball well.

This match proved that Djokovic is a better shotmaker than Fed
Fed running around to hide his weak backhand all the time was pathetic!
Fed is just a serve these days
if his serve doesn't work he's done against serious players
his ground game is the worst in the top 5
