Since I have decided to go Yonex all the way, I have all the following frames that arrived or are arriving and will be experimenting several hybrids to search for the best compromise for each frame. I will string 2 piece job: hybrid with 4 knots and crosses 2 pounds lower than mains. Therefore all multis/natural gut will be in the mains and all poly/co-poly and synth. gut in the crosses between 5% and 10% lower.
Before buying reels of whatever may suit my frames and my style best, I have purchased several packages of multis/synth/NG/poly/co-poly to test. I know there are others but canīt just buy them all to test Based on your experience and knowledge of those strings which combination of hybrids would you think I should try first or for sure. Please advice. So... the Yonex frames: - RX-32 - R-22 - RD-7 - RDX-500 Mid - RDTI-80 The strings to test: -Babolat Addiction 1.30mm (natural) -2 sets of Babolat VS Touch 16 1.30mm -3 sets of Babolat Xcel Power 1.30mm (natural) - I already had them around -Gosen OG-Sheep Micro Super 16 1.30mm (amber) -Prince Synthetic Gut 16 Original - 1.30mm (gold) -Signum Pro Blackline Hyperion 1.24mm (diamond black) -Signum Pro Blackline Tornado 1.23mm (black) -Signum Pro Poly-Plasma 1.23mm -Tecnifibre BlackCode 1.24mm (black) -Weiss Cannon Explosiv! 1.30mm (natural) -Weiss Cannon SilverString 1.25mm (light silver) -Yonex Tour Super 850 Pro - 1.32mm (white) |

Forgot to mention that of course my idea is to try the following Hybrids:
- Natural Gut / Synth Gut - Natural gut / poly or co-poly - Multi / poly or co-poly - Just multi - Just poly or co-poly Iīm just not sure if there are already best known combinations between the brands presented in the previous post that I donīt know about. I wonīt be trying only Natural Gut because I know it plays better than any other possible option but is too expensive. That is why, besides NG with poly I will also try NG with synth. gut. It will be cheaper than all NG in case I wonīt like NG with Poly. Donīt forget that because of Yonex particular headshape (requirement for crosses 5% lower than mains) I wonīt be using poly in mains for obvious reasons! |

I say that you should start with just a simple full bed of Prince Synthetic Gut in one frame, and Gosen in another. Then, depending on what you like and dislike about the strings, you go on and decide how to move on. Ex: You test the PSG and realize you want some more power, so you might try the Excel...
Sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy yourself!

Some on **** others from a user of the forum.
The bottom line is that if you look enough and be patient, the model you are looking for will always surface, sooner or later. |
