Default Tension

So i have been stringing for some time now and think my tensions are off. I usually set them at 60-62 but the final product plays like a 51-53. Does anyone know why this is and how i can fix it?

Your best bet is to check the calibration of your machine to be sure of proper operation.

Then you should check the clamps for slipping.

Then you could check the string gripper for slipping.

You should consider a tension meter ERT-300 after calibration. You will be able to check your final tension and tension loss.

In my experience, final tension in the strung racquet can vary considerably with the string type, even when the tension used is the same. Basically, I have found that the stiffer the string, the closer to a reference tension it will be. In my view, this is most easily verified using a Stringmeter and its equivalent, which tracks it well, but any of the devices which measure the dynamic tension of the whole stringbed instead will at least give some indication of how this is so. You need to recall, in other words, what kind of string material you are dealing with, going in, in order to assess that. I have found that even racquet attributes--stiffness, head size, etc.--are variables to be reckoned with. And, by the way, I have encountered variations of as much as 20 lbs.+.

My strings use to slip off my clamps, all I did was adjust them and it was alright.

Just check it by putting a dot on the string after you clamp them and release the pull

Could be your machine being a lockout tensioner. The speed of your pulls should be the same.
