I actually play with an overgrip for hours to break it in ill regularly use the same one for months I love the feel of my racquet's wooden handle without the original grip, just the worn in one. It's easy to change grips, not too clunky, and it doesn't give me blisters at all

I have white overgrips for the reasons already mentioned: been accustomed to them since first playing tennis competitively, visible indicators as to when they should be changed, and often having been bought in bulk.

Try the black Yonex supergraps. They keep their tacky feel longer and look better than the Wilsons.

If Wilson made the pro overgrips in black and I mean the regular pro and not the soft, and in bulk sizes I would buy them. But for now and until then white it shall be. It looks so much cleaner too!

White's cool but Tournagrip and TournaTac FTW!

I use Tournagrips because of Sampras.
The truth is revealed. Probably everybodys' #1 reason even if they feel a little embarrassed to admit it.

I don't think it would hurt for Unique to make the original Tourna in white though...

I've always been partial to black overgrips. I just don't like the appearance of a dirty grip. The black color masks that problem.
I've been using the Signum overgrips for years and years. Unfortunately, my source doesn't carry it anymore. So between two black overgrips in bulk available at TW, Yonex and Volkl, I opted for the Yonex. I'm hoping the Yonex is just as good or better than the Signum. r, eagle

There's some truth to this. Maybe not the main reason for some folks, but when I see Sampras/Agassi with that original light blue, it just reminds me of how timeless somethings in tennis are.

I remember also there was a time were neon colored over grips like hot pink, neon green, etc are used by pros. Babolat was the brand I think during the early 90's. B Becker uses it with his puma racket during the nabisco masters. And white that time was not selling well because it easily gets dirty.

Before I came back to tennis, the dye in the overgrips used at that time would rub off onto your hands. My Green Dura-tread grips would turn my hand green etc... I now use white Babolat Overwraps and don't have that issue... plus I really like the feel of them and they are thin enough not to affect my grip size.

I've actually had the opposite experience with black Super Grap. For some reason, my black ones lost their tack very quickly compared to both Wilson Pro and Gamma Supreme. My white Super Graps, however, remained tacky. Maybe I got a bad batch?

The reasons to buy them are pretty well covered in the thread.
The reason to market them hasn't been mentioned, though: customers are more likely to quickly replace an obviously dirty grip, especially when the difference between an old one and new one is so visually striking.
