Don't people have better things to do then battle out whose sports are better? Americans prefer baseball and American Football. Europeans prefer football(soccer). It really is not that huge a deal.

Outside of the slams, the casual fan doesn't care about tennis. It is only on these boards (most are hard core fans) that Masters matter a lot.
