Aero Pro Drive Cortex Customization questions

I want to try and customize one of my APDCs but I have never customized a racquet before.

Right now the racquet is stock specs:

- 4 1/4 original grip with 2 overgrips wrapped on it.
- Strung with 16 g Pro Hurricane Tours

Here are the specs I would like to achieve (strung):

Weight: 12.5 Oz.
Balance: 6 points headlight

Thanks for all the help.

PS. I tried using the customization tool but did not quiet understand some thins.

Math solves everything. You need to aim for 340 grams unstrung, I'll tell you that much. The rest, figure it out yourself, I believe in you!

Hola Sephiroth,

If you want to play with a 12.5 OZ 6 pts headlight racquet buy the Aero Pro Control Tour. That kind of customization will never work with the APDC. Never. Unless you spend hundreds of dollars for one racquet with the top customizing guys.

The problem starts when your racquets have different swing weights. You can eventually get the same swing weights but the still don't play the same way. One reason is that the balance points are different and that just throws you off.

I did use the Babolat RDC machine extensively with my APDCs. I tried tons of setups and tons of strings and lead placement ohhh and lots of silicon in the handle. Nada. I always go back to my 2.5 grs at 12 and one overgrip and play great. My second APDC sucks no matter what I do to it. Get it?

In conclusion. If you just want to try one racquet and see how it feels, etc, etc, disregard my post. If you are serious about customizing tennis racquets and specially the APDC disregard my post as well. Take care.

^Hmm? You can customize any racket to a given spec, given certain restrictions such as no decrease in weight or swingweight. You just have to play around with customization a bit. Using the customization tool, what don't you understand?
