Hey All,
I'm wondering if anyone's fond a good solution to the sore fingers from stringing. Recently I've been stringing a lot with Luxilon on tight string patterns. After 2 stick my fingers are beat. I've tried to wear gloves but then I lose the touch on the weaving. Any suggestions other than getting a rock hard set of fingertips? Here's my machine: http://www.stuffbox.com/Stuff/?pid=46 |

I use vinyl surgical gloves when I string poly. It's thin enough to get the touch and yet provide sufficient protection.

Many people that make a living working with their hands live with almost constant pain.

Hi Guys,
My advise is to use what is available in the market I assume you do not look at a black and white tv anymore, do you? I use the Stringway cross stringing tools for more than 20 years, you just push the string through the channel with effort and while looking in the other direction go and have a look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoktfpQE4C0 And there is no difference in string polys gut or nylon, or normal or tight patterns. |

2 best things you can do to help your fingers:
1- Use a starting clamp to pull your knots. Doing it by hand isn't that painful for 1-2 frames, but after that you're SOL. 2- Use a blunt tipped awl to straighten strings. Using your fingers will wear them down. You have a LOT of nerves at the tip of your fingers, be careful with them. |
