Almost All Politicians...
  • Serve Special-Interests and Lobbyists
  • Spend Money we don't have
  • Make promises they can't (and sometimes should'nt) keep
  • More interested in votes than what's right for the long-term of the country
  • Jeopardize our rights
  • Corrupt
I don't care if you call them Democrats or Republicans - unfortunately this applies equally to both parties - just different flavors of the same thing. The parties are intentionally partisan and polarizing to gain votes - not because they embrace any ideology that makes sense. Throw them all out, they're not working for us anyway.

The strange thing about your post is I think you actually believe you're describing politicians, rather than people in general. Most people overpromise, get too much in credit card and other debt, are corrupt in some way (or at least if they have the opporunity to be), and are mainly interested in their own needs. Are most of the people you know more interested in the long term needs of the country than their own needs???? I'm skeptical of any comment that begins "politicians......

Fair point - I suppose many (most?) people have lost their honor, integrity, virtue, etc... We see this in all walks of life - corruption run amok. It doesn't make it right. I don't claim to be perfect, but I try to be honorable, honest, etc... - I often fail, but know that I have. Most of my friends are 'Man' enough to admit that they're not perfect - before they're 'caught'. Most of our elected officials are not so honorable.

Not sure why that makes it right. Shouldn't we hold these people to the highest standard?

Correction: The Democrats fought for the financial system not to be regulated. This all happened during the Clinton administration, and the people behind it were part of his administration, e.g., Greenspan, Summers, Rubin, Geithner, etc.

I did say the democrats are also at fault. But the republicans had time to do something about it when they had power, but the economy was booming. They wanted to hold some high ground in the elections so they let Wall St. do as they please. The Democrats bought the weed, but the Republicans smoked it with them.

LOL! More like crack cocaine. The politicians are all bought and paid for by Wall Street, the bankers, the hedge funds, and large corporate interests.

Try to get your Congressman interested in passing a simple bill, for instance, to limit the annual increases of utility companies. Or, anything.

Whereas, Goldman Sachs will show up at some Senator's office with a complete bill written in draft form, plus research showing how good it would be for the economy, and a check for $10,000 stapled to the envelope. You have no chance.
