How to start

Hey, I am interested in starting to play some USTA sanctioned tournaments in my area, how can I get started??? BTW I'm in the 14 and under age group, and already have a USTA membership.(If thats important)

Well, generally there are 3 levels of tournaments. In our Section, they are named novice, satellite and championship. So novice is the common place to start. Championship is the highest level.

I suggest that you call or e-mail your district (state) junior development representative. It is their job to guide kids to the correct tournaments and training.

If you can't find it, respond with the name of your state & I'll look it up for you.

Meanwhile, practice with all kinds of players. Get a hopper and a case of balls. See if you can get some better kids to hit with you & help you a little. You'll need to read the rules of tournament play.
