Pure Control 2nd Gen w/ Pro Line II mains/Maxim Touch crosses @ 50/54lbs

VS Control w/ Signum Pro Hyperion mains/Babolat VS Touch crosses @ 51/55lbs
How do these two sticks compare in terms of feel. I formally played with that PC in about 02-03 and enjoyed them a lot. my understanding is the VS Control is just a stiffer version? Could you please elaborate?

I have recently purchased W/C silversting, Sig Pro Tornado & Hyperion, Revenge to try in the mains & use gut in the crosses. Currently have one Gt strung with Revenge(50lbs.) mains & NVY(BAB) in the crosses(53lbs.). Faily nice combo. By the way...Do you like the Pure Control or the Original Pure Drive more? I have only been playing tennis for a little over a year now. Hit the ball machine everyday for 1 1/2 hours....just now get a mild form of tennis elbow and have always strung racquets low! Happy Holiday....Dan...
Thanks. Tornado feels a bit like wire- I like Hyperion better and didn't notice a significant spin advantage from the Tornado. The older Plasma Hextreme have even better spin potential than the Tornado IMO.. Alu certainly die much faster than all the newer co-polys and I'm not using it anymore. I play with the swirly Pure Control as the Pure Drive's beam width is too thick for my liking and packs too much pop- the PC's give me an excellent balance of power and control. I did lead up original and swirly PD's to match PC's specs..

You like the GT? The newer PD's felt stiffer- I thought if you go back to the original PD it'll help ease your small problems with TE. The original PD is still the best PD for me- can really get amazing spin with it.

The VS Control felt similar to the swirly PC if leaded up- it's only 310g unstrung compared to the PC's 330g, but perhaps I still haven't figured out the correct lead setup and the VS Control still feel like it's missing something. It's actually a less stiff version- 64RA for the VSC and 66RA for the PC.

hmm interesting. i had just read somewhere it was a stiffer layup. I have never seen one. I guess it kind of waht the pure storm is based off of. What is the sw unstrung. I think it probably says in the throat because if i recall the pure control swirly is 300?

I believe the VS Control came out before the PC so is probably less related to the Storm? I think the Storm is based off the last Pure Control (team), but it's just a guess. Unstrung SW on the throat says 300 also, but I don't think it's accurate. Although the VSC's balance is slightly more HH at 315mm compared to the PC's 310mm, there is a full 20g difference in static weight. I added a total of 15g lead to the VSC to get the same strung SW as the PC.

Marrat- Have you hit with the GT? I have all from 1994 and, besides the original) this is a excellent playing racquet. Lot more spin & power...plus better feel. I have 3 of the PC's(Swirly) maybe give that a try again. I am not sure if the racquet cause the TE, could have been trying different grips(Semi-western & 1hand bachhand)? Was hitting with the eastern forehand. Could be a number of reasons, not relaxing the grip etc. Anyway...Happy Hitting!!! PS- I here fishing for the Brown Trout in New Zealand is outstanding?

Fishing for brown trouts? There are heaps here but only up north where it's warmer I think! I've hit with the PDGT and PDRGT's, they felt a lot better than the cortex and I'd say they are closer to the swirlys. The original PD without the woofer has that raw feel which is just different.

I don't normally think "that looks cool" after I string up a frame but this one caught my eye...

Pro Staff Tour 90
Tecnifibre X-One Biphase 1.30mm Red Mains @ 56 lbs.
Luxilon BB ALU Power 1.25mm Crosses @ 60 lbs.
