Just curious, as I come across just as many discarded golf clubs and putters in my visits to the thrift stores as I do tennis rackets:
Are there any particular golf clubs that are regarded by golfers in the same reverential tones as we talk about a St Vincent PS85, brown Prestige Pro or Borg Pro etc etc ?

Hmm... Titliest or Wilson forged blades are good. Most of today's game improvement clubs really aren't "coveted" like that. Wilson had Robert Mandrella work on some clubs and his are well known within the golfing community.
Odyssey or Titliest putters would be nice too. The Wilson 8802 putter... nice. |

Also, Ping Beryllium Copper irons. They are supposed to be really soft but the material isn't permitted anymore for some reason.

The be all and end all of great clubs. If I start golf up, again, I'm buying a set of these. |

I have a complete full set (12 club, 1-LW) of the BeCu irons with the square grooves and the original Ping graphite shafts. BeCu was found to be toxic (inhalation of beryilium dust) during manufacturing so they are no longer made.

I have a putter I was told was the original Ping putter. It is the one that actually makes a pinging sound when you hit the sweet spot hence the name of the brand. I picked it up from a bag of used putters at a local golf store. I doubt it is original though. It probably is a reproduction. I wouldn't think the owner of the store would sell it like that if it had any real value. Then again, I could have just been lucky.

as someone mentioned, scotty cameron putters are highly sought after.. I sold a newport 2 putter not so long ago that was a heavier (350g) version and got a price similar to a good example of a st vincent
