I used this shoe and they were great. Nice and light but they did pinch my 4rth toe and my foot is narrow . . . Wasn't bad though. Can't beat the comfort but the durability is low.

Im using the nike balistec 2.3's and I think the nikes are even better / on sale. Just as comfortable with 6 month durability guarantee. There is a thread about them and nobody says anything negative about them.

Had them for just over 2 months now and the soles are almost warn out.
Getting ready to send them back to H-bird.
On the right shoe there is something that rubs my baby toe and causes major blisters.
I do not recommend these shoes.

Fedace I had the GRI's and they made that farting sound the entire life of the shoe, especially toward the end. I found the sole ran down extremely quick. I played mostly indoors with them. They required no break-in and were comfy and ultra-supportive given the light weight.

I have seen two retailers offering the 6mo warranty. I'm sure TW will follow suit in the coming months.

gel resolution 2's are the best shoe i have worn.. tried barricades 4 & 5's nike ballistec and vapors.. I do not think the GEL 2's wear out any more quickly than Nike's do..

Also the grip is excellent especially on a slightly damp court (which is important in the UK)

Just bought my third pair of Res 2s, and the other two are still fine after about a year of alternating them on hard courts. I kept my Res 1s and now use them on clay, with pretty good results.

I sometimes notice the funny sound, but I can live with it for the comfort and stability these fine shoes provide.

P.S. I bought my second pair of blues and am looking hard at the new black Res 2. With all black Nike or Lotto shirts, shorts, socks, wrist and head bands, I could be Darth Hacker. LOL

The sound is caused by the upper rubber "mesh" crimping and releasing. I'm surprised to hear from the one poster who says the GR1's did the same thing for him. The uppers on the GR1's were made of a much thinner and softer mesh material. In fact, the GR1's were a better design in my view...more comfortable right out of the box. The GR2's need about 1 hour of break-in and even then they are not as comfortable as the older model. Still the most comfortable performance shoe on the market....

Jrod-

Not the sound I'm talking about. My GR1's squeaked non-stop. It wasn't coming from the rubber on the upper. I was from the soles. I take alot of "tiny" steps setting up to hit and found the smaller the steps the louder the squeak. I found the GR1 VERY comfy and the kangaroo leather required absolutely no break-in. They were playable out of the box. The tread wore quickly and had some smooth spots but not enough to warrant the constant squeaks and slipping that was going on. I recall playing a mixed doubles match indoors where I spent a fair amount of time on my keister. Enough so that a teammate commented in jest that I should change my shoes.

ok, got it. Mine squeak as well in this manner. I never really gave it much thought since it seemed quite normal compared to the uppers making a sound. You must have good footwork....

Good point; I like the squeak for this very reason. It reminds me that I'm moving my feet and to keep doing it.

I really liked the GR's, am tempted to buy the black GRII's or the black Gel Game but a "love affair" with the black BV's @ $55 from the Adidas outlets makes the additional $50 bucks hard to justify. My only complaint with the GRI's is the ankle support. It's not bad but when making quick cuts I almost rolled my ankle several times. I wish the achilles notch and ankle was a bit higher.

I'm on my 3rd pair of GR1's. I have not experienced the squeak some have experienced in any of the 3 pairs I have worn. Also, these shoes soles wear the most evenly for me. Therefore, last me the longest. When I used to wear Nike, I would wear out the right toe in 4 months. I have not wore out the right toe on the GR1's ever! Awesome shoe. I had a pair of the GR2 but sent them back because the toe box was a bit wider and my foot slid around it it.

I have problems with arch support myself. Very frustrating...
People suggested I try Nike Cage. Certainly got them on my list since then.

Meanwhile, tried the Asics Resolution II. They are impressively comfortable and "serious", quality shoes. The arch support could be more "intense" though... I am not getting the pain I used to with other shoes, just doesn't make me feel that confident. For people with "issues free" feet, these shoes are the bomb !!

If you don't have wide feet, for an "exaggerating" arch support you can try the barricades II and the Genius line of shoes. Solid arch support, but make sure the fit is compatible to your feet overall. I do have narrow feet and they feel nice

This is the great review that TW gave the Gel Resoltion I and convinced me to try a pair: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Revi...WWBReview.html

They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn and I am on about my eighth pair. Hopefully TW will have a similar 6 month sole warranty like another site started with, as I'll need to get some in another couple of months, even though I just started with a new pair.

I agree. They absolutely do need to match that offer. They just lost out on an sale of 2 pairs from me, primarily because of this.
