Bad day today in the Asics Gel Res 2. my feet hurt at the end of 2 hours of tennis. Shoes felt hard and not very comfy at all. i have to go back to Yonex on Sat and see what happens.....

Fedace - I had arch issues after a couple hours wearing them. I posted this a while back regarding this particular shoe. For those with high arch, it's on to something better.

For others with low arch or have flat feet, these are great shoes. Good cushioning, support, and feels light.

I love their running shoes but somehow they should come out with a model for people with high arch.

Guys, these shoes are soft. I mean if they aren't soft and comfortable, then what shoe is...?

Now, the arch support, especially if you have high arch, could really constitute a problem.

Sorry to be contrary, but I have an extremely high arch and these shoes give me more than ample support.

Guess beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

O.K. if it works for you, but trust me, many, many other shoes (without saying that Asics are not comfortable) provide more "pronounced" arch support.

There is a reason why I say more pronounced and not necessarily better.
The cushion designated for the area is higher at almost every single adidas shoe. I really don't know how this works for everybody.

I 've seen posts where people with high arches prefer lower support, others with high arches wanting higher support. What can you say...

When it comes to myself, I have narrow feet with almost flat arches and if I don't have enough support at this area, after 2 hours of intense playing my right foot aches.

Thank you for your thoughts. What shoes do you recommend for people like me ?? What about Nikes ?? Lunarlite Vapor or Breath 2K10 ???

what i meant was Upper areas were bit stiff. and Cushioning is good but it isn't pillow soft like Yonex. but cushion seem to be more durable however.

Maybe it was my mistake and it wasn't the arch support at all. my Orthotics has plenty of arch support as is. i am thinking it was just the orthotic making the shoe narrow and that was what was making it uncomfortable ??....from TW site:

Fit: Length fit is true to size. Fits with a medium width with slight taper towards the heel for a secure fit. Arch support is slightly higher than medium height. Offers a cushioned and comfortable ride with minimal break-in required.

This means that the Orthotics that i have inserted in the shoe has raised my feet somewhat and shoe is fitting Narrow and perhaps that was what was making it so uncomfortable ??

maybe i should try the Lunarlite Vapors that has Wide fit and has more room ???

At the end of the day you never know with shoes.
Appart from the whole thing being subjective, the feeling of a shoe can change depending on time and type of usage.

I know that Wilsons and Heads have a wide form if this interests you.
Vapors (used by Chris Edwards) and 2k10 - theoretically - are not meant for people with wide feet.

Others might want to confirm it.

Customer review from TW site and he has wide feet. after trying the Lunarlite Vapor. maybe this model is different ?

Comments: I have somewhat wide feet and haven't been able to wear Nike shoes for years as all of their decent shoes are too narrow. I got my new Vapor Tour yesterday and wore them last night and felt like I was in heaven. Felt perfect out of the box, and amazingly light yet stable and they look great! They are pricey so I do hope that they last.

No one shoe is going to be perfect for everybody. The method of sizing shoes just with a length and width does not account for the variablity in the height of arches, height and shape of the top of the foot, and that some feet have a fan or hourglass imprint.

Tennis shoes don't come in different models for under and over pronators like running shoes do. But under pronators will be happier in a shoe with a relatively flexible sole like the Gel Res 2, while over pronators will likely do better in a shoe with a stiffer sole like the Barricades.

And some shoes are just going to accomadate individual prosthetics better than others.

Who said Chris has wide feet..? Better ask him, there is a reason why he 's stuck with the Vapors for such a long time !!

^^That review is for last Vapor and it is Not for the Vapor 2010 tour. 2010 tour is supposed to be even wider than the last one. Not sure if it has better cushioning or what ?

I tried the new Lunarlite Vapor and it´s much wider then the normal Vapor and also wider then Adidas Barricade, Asics Gel Res II and Nike CB 2,3´s , and the cushioning in the heel is ok, and the shoe is light overall, but the stability is really bad and the forefoot cushioning is really bad. I´m heavy as a rock though at 235 lbs and for me this shoe would be great as a street shoe, but not for tennis

If stablility is so bad then how does Federer play in it ??? and i take it that the cushioning on this was worse than the Breath free 2K10 shoe,,i take it ??
