Default Pro swingweights -- BNP Paribas Open 2010

I've had very little time to check specs on racquets, but I did grab swingweights on a couple of sticks. These are for strung racquets, ready to go:

Aspelin: 363
B. Bryan: 368
M. Bryan: 354
Davydenko: 352
Moya: 399
Odesnik: 385
Soderling: 392

Measurement units are kg*cm^2.

Most top doubles players have relatively high SW. For accurate volleying, it's important to have a lot of mass in the hoop for more stability.

but how do you get the racket head up so quick when SW is so high. my racket head would be only 1/2 way there when the ball is coming that quick and SW of racket is so high.....

They have the racquet head up all the time and only take it down for low shots. Please check out again how to play a proper volley!

Does it make sense?

Greg, do you think you'll get the chance to string Fed's stick and collect the specs on his new BLX?

Fed has his sticks strung by the guys at Priority 1. He does not use tournament stringers.

I know that, but I wanted to find out what the odds are. He does have specs of Federer's frame on his site, so I thought there might be a very small chance he could, although not likely.

I might be able to get his tension from Ron Yu, but I doubt I'll see one of his sticks, let alone measure it. Sorry.

if you have a short quick stroke, keep your racket up, a heavy racket is great to volley with, it does all the work and can handle 80-100mph missiles.

When you're facing hard-hit balls at net, you need a heavy frame to get the recoilweight up high enough to keep the racquet from kicking back in your hand. However, I think that, if Greg can find time to post specs, the weight is in the handle, not the head.

Wrong. With that swingweight on that frame, the weight is in the head. However, these frames are .25-inches longer than stock, which means there is a little less additional mass than one might expect.
