Default Flipper loses 7TH(that's right) straight opening round match

Incredible, this guy has no heart, just hits the crap out of the ball and if it comes back, he hits it harder. Flipper has less guts than a minnow.

You know, one upon a time this guy had all the promise in the world. I guess a little fame, the $$ that came with it and a fairly serious injury just added up to more than he wanted to overcome. To be a serious world class athlete it has to be your full time (actually overtime) job and #1 priority. Once you've lost it its tough to get back. Andre is the exception.

To be fair his knee injury is pretty serious.. bear in mind his previous injury to the ligaments but also that he needs injection into the joint of artificial cartilage that function as his menisci and that without these side to side mobility is impossible.

The amazing thing is that he has enough stability/movement in the joint to even play tennis.

Flipper certainly is missing that X factor. Seen his new gal tho? Only one thing he's motivated for now.

He didn't cite injury in his latest loss, he just said he didn't feel comfortable out there. You certainly need to feel comfortable when you don't hold back at all on any shots.

True but if u're a top athlete.. you and your retinue of trainers/psychologists/coaches are unlikely to want you thinking of the injury. However the sheer extent of the injury and the reconstructive work that went into it as well as the need for 6 monthly injections must surely have some effect on his movement/play.

Even Goran has won a first round match this season, and almost won v. Hanescu to-day. But Goran is forgiven, loved and respected . Mark hit the skids again after DC this year when he was blamed for the Aussie loss...whether it 's his sensitivity to criticism, pre-occupation with women, or his serious knee problem, he still hasn't given up on tennis. At least he's still going to tournaments.

Well well!!

The Brit's beat the Aussies!! (again!!). Looks like the Aussies are lagging behind, especially now we are taking over in cricket.

O well, they still have the barbeque

Amazing how quickly a player's confidence can drop. After the best year of his career, Flipper seems headed for his worst year.
Losing to the #800 player? That could be the biggest upset in the history of the ATP tour!

I think his mind is out of the game, anywhere but far from the ball & the courts.

Funny thing is that his seeding at Wimbledon will be upped a lot because of last year, let he'll still probably lose like 3rd round or so.

Clothing designer Marky. LMAO, he'll be spiking his hair and wearing tight tank tops to fashion shows. Next thing you know he'll be ditching Delta Goodrem to hang out with the fab five.
