Default knee injury in the past - what leg strengthening strategy?

After playing tennis league matches, my knees are hurting for several days. (it's hard courts, but I use the 'best' shoes with inserts) -

Need an advice or links on a good routine to strengthen the legs, keeping in mind there was an ACL+meniscus skiing injury a few years ago? So, I am not doing ANY running or jumping anymore.

I am doing static bicycle, but hate going to the gym. Any simple exercises that can be done at home, with some bands, weights, etc.?

Thanks in advance,
Paul
