Default For those who have lead tape

Once you made up your mind and applied it, do you just leave it there, or do you reapply it after a certain amount of time? I'm asking because I wipe my racquets down after matches and I would wipe the tape area as well. Either I'm taking away lead or they are just really dirty as I noticed spots on my towel. I'm not sure though. Is it not advised to wipe the tape area?

Lead tarnishes very quickly when exposed to air. That's what's rubbing off- as to it loosing it's weight, u should be fine.

Depending where you have placed the lead tape- you might want to consider placing it under the racquets grommets.

I put electrical tape over my lead tape. I bought a pack of electrical tape from Home Depot with 5 colors (white, blue, green, red, yellow). I put the white electrical tape over the lead on my Yonex RDS003 and it looks nice, basically blends right in. And of course you can also use the tape as finishing tape to your overgrips and it is a lot better than the tape they give you with overgrips (perfect width and easy to tighten).

That's a really good idea. I need to figure out an idea for my MG Prestige....

Don't worry about the stuff wiping off. It doesn't effect the weight. As for looks that electrical tape idea sounds interesting. Do you have any photos you could post?

No I don't. It depends on the color scheme of your racket to get it to blend in. My racket has white at 3 and 9 where I put my lead tape so it looks good. Plus that electrical tape from Home Depot is nice and shiny like the paintjob.

I put my lead tape under my grip so I never really think about this, I would think that unless the tape itself starts coming off you should be fine, and if you really like the placement of the tape you might want to find a more permanent place for it like under the grommets, I first experimented by putting lead on the trap door but when I found what I liked I put it under all of my grips

I don't think that wiping lead tape with bare hands is a good idea.

As long as you wash them well afterwards I think you're fine. I doubt too many people wipe down their rackets (I could be wrong), but if you must I would use electrical tape over it. I do it just so that I'm not thinking about it at all when I'm playing even though I don't think that little amount of lead can do anything, I like to be cautious.
