change of frame?
When he's been using this one frame and been as dominant as he has?
That's gotta be the last of his worries.
I'd bet on fed reaching the USO final

I have a feeling that Federer will lose in the 1st round of US OPEN.

A 96 inch frame would work well for federer at this point in his career.
lack of power ??? more like Lack of control. Fed's forehand has been real Crap this year. 99% of the time it sails LONG....

Why can't anyone realize one little thing?
When you start to suck at something, it's because of yourself, not the equipment. You can't blame a change in play on the racket if you used to play well with it.

IIRC, it's 10-12 sq. in.

Laid on 110 sq. in. Wilson

Didn't we see this same thread last year, right before the 2009 French Open.

I know man, how people can take a thread like this seriously is beyond me! The guy had won the AO, made the quarters of FO and SW19 and he is done........ OK! Like the guy said earlier, he has got 2 kids now, ruled the game and was untouchable for 5 strait years and is getting older, and maybe a bit bored! Whenever you reach great highs, people want to see you fall, its inevitable. Looking forward to the Fedexpress rolling up to the US and spanking these boys and showing people he is still here!

So true, most people on these boards can't play, so they talk this crap instead.

All he needs to do is practice with a 65" wooden racquet and then play matches with his 90" racquet and it will be cake for him.

federer falling to number three is a big hit for the tennis world. you dont think its catastrophic because you probally arent around the game much. worldwide federer is arguably more popular than tiger woods and is sitting in the passenger seat only to michael jordan. federers collapse is monumental and is historical because of just how high he set the bar and for a player like djokovic to pass roger in the rankings serves as one of the biggest storylines in tennis history. federer is and by far is the most skilled player to ever play on the tour, yet his skill hasnt diminished that much. its little things like an extra bit of pop from the racquet and some added speed to his forehand and backhand. federer needs to try an 11-11.5 98 square inch frame and watch him win slam after slam. its just the little things......

I bet if Qui Gon Jinn had a lightsaber with a wider beam and a little less head heavy he would have beat Darth Maul.
