Default building a grass court... need help

Are there any sites or books out there for building grass courts? My dad has 5 acres of property and is going to let me build a court on it.

Any links or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-David

If you can, you should build about 3 or 4 of them. It all depends on how much you play. If you play alot, then you will need more than one as the grass becomes worn. I don't really know how to do it, but I would level some land out, plant whatever grass that is used, water it, cut it short then get some chalk and paint the lines. At a country club near my house they have a few grass courts. S&V domination...I can beat all of my friends on grass!

Good luck...

You need to roll and mow every day when playing... Also, I hope you have a hard type of ground, because the bounce on a sand-based court is even less than on a clay-baed one. I've been told that 1 grass court costs about 50,000 dollars a year to maintain..

I've never played on a grass court, but have plenty of artificial turf courts in the local area, and I'd like to know how those two compare with each other.
