Default Worlds Fastest Stringer???

Here is a video I came across on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvYMm2iniK8

I know it was back in 1985, the the machine they were using looks like a Eagnas or Guterman (NCR Sports), maybe even a Czech Tension machine.

I wonder if the world record has been broken since then?

I watched this video a while ago, too bad they don't have the video for the complete process, but I am wondering was the string job done by TWO persons or ONE person.

I am also wondering any other people try to break this record after that....

I saw that too, but that was only one weave. I can't tell if he had his eyes closed, because the resolution was pretty bad.

I've still got my Ektelon D as a back up machine! Serious Workhorse! Yeah, they were stringing as a pair - looks like one guy weaving and clamping and the other guy tensioning. Not sure if that would make me any faster tho! Also, at the end the racquet was still on the table and the string ends not cut so I would guess that the time was for the racquet on the machine and doesn't include mounting etc. I think these days fastest stringer comps include cutting, mounting, stringing and removal from the machine?

I reckon with an aeropro or pure drive and a nice, easy weaving syn gut I could go to about 12 minutes for a quality job but normally average around 24!

When I worked in a pro-shop in Sweden we strung an awful large amount of rackets each day. One of the young guns at that place strung one POG 14/18 racket at 7 min 38 sek with me holding the stop-watch in my hand.

It was unreal to see! It was strung with a prince synth gut on a Neos 1000 machine.

1) It clearly says it was a duo in the video.

2) There are no clamps. Can you call it stringing when you don't pull it to a tension? Looks to me like a worthless string job.

Yes, it was a one piece, mid version (14x18.) He's working on trying to get it under 7:00.

That is amazing. I've heard of some people stringing at around
the 10 minute mark, but that is seriously fast!
I think it takes me 7:00 just to mount and
cut the strings, but I'm pretty slow.
How fast can he/she string a 18x20 head prestige w/CAPS?

Well we do get plenty of practice! The best way to get faster is repetition. In terms of the Prestige, it's difficult to say, although I can guarantee that it's under 15 minutes, for him I would guess about 10-12 minutes. Typically when we time ourselves it's using racquets with an easier string pattern.
