I don't see any lead on the racket, I wonder if she is playing it at the stock weight. She seems to hit as heavy a ball as anyone in the WTA.

I agree that it's odd, and a little disturbing, that so many intelligent people think it's OK to tell bald-faced lies as long as it's "just business".

What's worse is that it's far from isolated to the tennis equipment industry. I fear that it is close to a universal attitude that the "truth" one tells to customers is a different animal from the truth one owes friends and family.

It's a crazy world. Somebody oughta sell tickets.

Prince is probably breathing a sigh of relief that Sharapova didnt make it too far or win the USO because how would they market that racquet?

i know the general nonsenses is that she's using a YT Radical Pro, but is the YT Speed MP 16x19 another possibility?

I don't know if you combined "general consensus" and "nonsense" on purpose or by accident, but well done. If two words ever belonged together, those two do.

(Generally speaking, I mean. I am less than 100% sure of what Shriekapova is using.)

This is new news to me. Thanks for posting. Maria's playing style for some reason doesn't strike me as a controled midplus user. Her and the Williams sisters seem more like oversized baseline bashers. But the williams are now playing with k blade 98, maybe she feels she could benefit from the control too.

The Williams sisters are using the KBlade Team which is 104sq inches.

Hidious,

If you are buying from a place like that its not real "pro-stock" oftentimes its a pro's name on it with a clone curve...and cheaper because there is no warranty...

granted you can get overruns at team sales and places like Perani's..however most of the time if you are going to look for a Styles curve or specific stock # you will pay just like you do for an H22/TGK 2xx. etc...and need to 'scour the bay

all the major retailers make their own version of pro-stock that is in essence just an SMU for them in special colors or with a slight change in materials ..it would be like if TW created a special run of pro-stock CB 2.3's that had a closed AirMax unit a la Rafa,

Just wanted to make sure you aren't overspending for that stuff!!

Prince is just playing it slightly safe at this point.
I think this is much more likely than it being difficult to stencil her racquet because of the alternating string color. Even if it were next to impossible to make the stencil visible, Prince would insist upon it if they could. A little marketing is always better than none.

Thanks VS for the reminder. Vantage would be an option for conscientious tennis consumer. Maybe Donnay now?

Maria played well with her "experimental" racquet, if only her serve could get better.
