Terrific thread FabFed. Nice to see some others who feel the same way as I do after the Fed loss (sad).
Could you measure the balance of the real and the retail and compare? No need to put in on an RDC, just use the edge of a table or desk, and you could put a towel underneath. Do you know the technique? Could you also measure the SW of both? You just need contact between two pencils and the strings. Again do you know the technique? I guess there will be no way to verify the lead under the grommets at 12, but there is no need to since the guy from P1 confirmed it. Though I would be curious - and I think it is probably this - 4 layers of 1/4 in. 8 in long? Last edited by haderech : 09-12-2010 at 01:44 PM. |

What did they say at P1 about his lead?

In case you don't know who Ron is, he's Federer's personal stringer and racquet customizer. He's verified Fabfed's frames as the real thing several times over.

Damn Fabfed.... I'm just speechless here. But a great congrats for getting the racquet. And from what I heard about those charity auctions, it must be a BIG sacrifice financially. I mean, you can get a nice used car instead of Roger's racquet.

Hey Fabfed congrats on the great get. You also have much more discipline than I do because I would go out the next day and play with it.
I have one request though. Can you measure the grip size? The way I would do it is take a piece of paper (something that doesn't stretch like string can) and make a thin strip and make as exact a measurement as you can. I am just curious because even though it says 4 3/8, it looks like its smaller than that (technically, it should be 4 7/16 with an overgrip, but it looks smaller for some reason). Thanks a lot. |

Its very understandable these collectors items dont get used. Even the string breaking would de-value it |
