Default Best shoes for a newbie?

I just started playing tennis recently. I'm going to a camp at my high school over the summer monday-friday for a month. I'm thinking I should probably get some shoes because a month is a long time to play with just my regular gym shoes. What kind would you guys reccommend? Or do you think I should just stick with my New Balance (running type) shoes?

Thanks

- Jessica

You definitely want to play with tennis shoes not running shoes. You can twist your ankles easily while playing tennis with running shoes. Any low-end tennis shoes will work, don't wanna get into any of the pricey ones until your rly serious about tennis.

Get the really expensive nikes. They'll last forever, or at least until you get good.

Thanks guys I think I'll look for something in the mid price-range because I'm pretty serious but I don't want to spend too much money after just getting a racket and stuff.

Thanks again

Get something with a warranty. Tennis wears out shoes like you wouldn't believe. I STRONGLY recommend the Adidas Barricade II's. Since there are new Barricade III's that just came out, the price is pretty good. These are the best tennis shoes. Everyone who plays tennis around here wears them because of their durability and comfort.

Many Prince shoes have a 6 month warranty, and they aren't too expensive. Shops around here have them for 50-70 bucks. Burn them out in 6 months, and that's a free pair! Wilson also makes some good shoes with warranties. I just got through with a pair of Prostaff 700's. they lasted longer than the warranty (darn it!). They were only $56 when I bought them too. I'd still be wearing them, but they got trashed at work.

I suggest checking out the Best Value section in TW's Shoe Finder. Perhaps the Prince Quicktrack Ti. 1.0 - good cushion and durability. You don't want to spend too much on a shoe before you know much about either it or your game...
