Video taping for stroke / strategy analysis is fine for yourself and her coach.

But putting up a video of your daughter on the internet is a bad idea IMO. You never know about stalkers etc..

Some parents are against filming their kids. does anyone know the legalities of filming juveniles, even for sporting events. I think you should respect the wishes of the opposing players parents.

One guy told me the Dad of the opposing player gave him an official document from his law office that it was copywrited material and to be used by both primary parties and not to be sold or shared by any party.

I really want to know the answer as well. what if the opponent paretdoes not want your video the game? I was told, they can not stop you. It is legal to video, but puting on youtube is illegal if they do not permit.

Video taping can be really helpful, and if you want to post it online to show family, friends, and coaches for feedback, just password protect it. If you don't, you'll just get jerks who will say bad things about your kid in the comments - look at any video and you'll see this.

True, I just remove them if offensive, dirty and hateful. I will leave them along if simple just stupid.

The following is not legal advice, it is commonsense general understanding. You can videotape an open public event. If you receive a letter such as the above, you should respect the wishes of the participant and not sell or share the recording. If a sale or share should accidentally occur under your watch, the remedy would be to "unshare" the recording or compensate the other participant for their portion of the "sale".
