Default Staff -shoe review question

I was wondering how your shoe review number ratings are calculated. Is there a baseline or these ratings. I ask because in shopping for shoes I see the Nike Breathe Free II has a weight rating of 4.5 and the Reebok 3D Premier has a rating of 4.0. A very large rating differential considering these shoe both have an identical weight of 15.5 ounces. Please reply and keep up the good work tennis Warehouse.

I won't speak for TW but I think that they base the weight rating on how well it performs vs. how heavy it is. With the 2 shoes you have named for instance, The Nike Breathe Free II are light but have a 6-month durability guarantee and there very comfortable. The 3D Premier pro doesn't come with the 6-month guarantee.

Thats just my thought on it. Welcome to the Talk Tennis message boards as well.

When scoring for weight we take into consideration the performance and durability aspects of the shoe. Also, feel is an important factor. For instance, the Air Max Breathe Free II feels lighter on the foot than most other shoes at a similar weight.

Chris, Thank you for your reply but quite honestly that doesn't make much sense to me. Performance and durability should not affect a shoes weight. Thanks for this info though. This will help me utilize the rating for what they are worth.
