I think we sacrificed enough goats, stocks, and virgins to not see such a year again.

In fact, I think the seventh sign of the wookie is when he goes vegan, stays clear of fried food and starts to think twiggy like super models are hot.

*knocks on wood*

p.s. time for some nfl bets!

Thinking of betting the philly (+3) over green bay. Or Saints (+10.5) over Seattle. Thoughts?

Hey Paulman,

Watching Fed match live, so no worries about spoiling your 2011 perfect match score posting record. Just kidding buddy.

Just wanted to let you know, that I met a guy recently who customizes for the pros. Matches racquets, silicone, ..etc. Think he recently did Odesnik's for a challenger he is playing in. The guy is a character..not sure if that's a good thing.

So my question to you. Have you ever changed a pallette? Extended a racquet length?.

If not, how can you get to master open class status, unless you just get points for swinging a demo and customizing dora the explorer sticks. Maybe that's only true in certain sections of the country.

Keep swinging for the stars... you may get the lob in.

Hahaha, just awesome Sup!

I actually have changed some Head pallets and did some extensions on a few different sticks of mine. Most definitely used quite a bit of lead tape and some silicone but there's still more to tinker around with. Trying to get my game into shape using smoke and mirrors with equipment tinkering.

PS, did not know they made Dora sticks, may have to look into them for my 5 year old girl...lol

I did extend them to 27.5 and they do play really nice. Getting back into the swing of things with the APD, buddy. I played much better with it the day after I played with you a couple of weeks ago. Might have something to do with new string job, as the one I used with you was about 1.5 years old! lol Also, for some reason, my singles game is starting to come around and dubs game is stinkin! Regardless, I'll never sell my Austrian i.Rads.

I think you were just impressed I could serve a few bombs with the i.Radical that you couldn't return...

Chris,

I still think you play best with those 19s as well. You hit much more consistently with them while still hitting heavy shots. Plus your serves with them are way better. The PC600 was not anywhere as good, I thought.

Paulman,

There is an argentinian guy who tinkers with racquets.. aka "the magic man"... that claims you can get a different balance not only from lead in the handle but placing the lead above or below where you hand settles on the grip. Lots of peeps seem to be going to that direction, especially the one handers.

Which btw, I went back to a one hander, working out, and am finally feeling a lot better (Sun power system activate). I shall return to my 3.5 status and care about tennis again. However drinking is fundamental for sustain the mojo.

p.s. for those who are into strength training. My UFC friend put me onto this stuff and I stopped using it last year when "the dark days" began. We'll I got some yesterday and am super eager to start using it. Let's get Jack3d.

Chris_Downs .. did you ever get to try it out?

I'm a strong believer in the honeymoon demo effect. You concentrate so much on the racquet/technique instead of the ball, that you may actually hit better. Then when you get used to it.. your brain starts to over analyze. Also, some sticks just seem to not fit your natural game. Try a broomstick?

Chris_Downs may try every racquet, but will he ever go duece on the grip?

Sup, great to hear you are back on the courts and enjoying tennis again! Drinkin is most definitely great for the mojo! Balance is way to go but always hard...lol

I agree with the "magic man". It does make a difference!

I also have two flavors of Jack3d but only use it on days of low energy levels. I need to do some training to get rid of all this excess weight though! I could really put that Jack3d to good use if and when I do start...

Ugh - have $10 gift card for SportzAuth, but their tennis selection is doo-doo.

If I had to customize a racquet for the wookie, I would make the end of his racquet grip into a maple syrup dispenser. Just saying.

Wookie. Steelers going to win the superbowl? Is Serena faking an injury to avoid a drug test ala what the rumors are stating? If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it... do I get 10 pts toward my section ranking instantly? Please pass the salt.

p.s I met this WTA star Christmas eve (Dushevina). She was super shy.

Buy one of those power balance silicone bracelets. Seems to be the "thing" for tennis players (pro and amateur). I haven't tried that particular one, but I can attest that they do work to an extent. May help you bend down on your backhand.

You know Sup, the honeymoon effect sure does work for some but for Chris, he's ALWAYS in demo mode so I don't think it applies to him...

I've definitely tried my share of racquets but I've realized the ones I still play best with are the ones I've own the longest and played with the longest as they still do fit my game best...

I think if Chris_Downs stuck to one racquet long enough, his game would improve more than the typical demo trial period. He may surprise us all.

Don't lie, it will have lead tape, extended handle, leather grip, and poly & gut hybrid strings in no time.
