Title says it all I tend to keep my legs straight while hitting my two handed backhand any tips or drills to help me solve this?

What? I'm sure it was 24.3" wide. Obviously, you can gauge length while in the middle of a heated match. Jesus Christ, be accurate please!

Kaz00, are you not bending your knees only because you're not used to it and haven't made it a habit yet? Or is it because you have some sort of knee problems or maybe a weak leg?

If it is simply because you haven't gotten used to bending your knees yet, then you have to keep thinking about it. There's really no shortcut, you have to consciously force your body to do so until you do it enough that it becomes a habit. I mean you can do lunges and the likes to build up leg strength, but repetition is the best way to get your body into the habit of doing a certain action.

I suggest you schedule 5 sets of 100 sit-ups per day to start.

Can't be more specific than suggesting spreading feet to 26". And if OP doesn't practice it, he will never do it.
No, 24. something is not wide enough. But close.

Early shoulder turn is the key.

As you turn your shoulder away from the ball, you should naturally coil down, bending your knees during your backswing.

During your forward swing uncoil up. Push up off your legs as you uncoil back towards the ball.

Start practicing it to just feel the rythmn of the upper body rotation coodinated with the bending and unbending of the knees.

Practice the rythmic motion with backhands off the wall to engrain muscle memory.

Practice the rythmic motion with a partner who can sustain long backhand to backhand rallies.

I will try this thanks! Just has to get a wee bit warmer.

Also my friend when we play games of 10 will just constantly moon ball to my backhand I don't mind, but the ball is always near my eyeballs or above my head. Do I take these balls on the rise or back up and wait for them to enter my strike zone?

Usually on those moon balls I would run around and smack the tar out of it with my forehand buttt I need a backhand as a weapon too because my serve has the yipps.

Only experience can tell you if you should take it as a shorthop near the baseline or retreat well back to hit it.
Me, I'm no baseline threat, so always stand in on the baseline and take my chances. If I extend the rally, I will lose the point anyways.

stay on your toes. If you are on your heels, everything else becomes hard.
