Tomorrow's Finals
Singles: Wil Spencer (UGA) vs. Eric Quigley (UK) Doubles: Conkic/Smith (UT) vs. Garrapiz/Pieters (UGA) Note: #1 Rhyne Williams did not play in the tournament, Quigley is the top seed. Also, Georgia's lineup was impressive. They'll have an uphill fight against Tennessee, but probably established themselves as a strong #2 in the SEC. |

Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arkansas, and South Carolina did not participate. Also, 3 top players from Ole Miss (Norberg and the Thiemann twins) were not there.
Still, Georgia showed impressive depth, putting their top 6 into the round of 16, and three of them into the quarterfinals. Wil Spencer beat teammate Javier Garrapiz in the semis. Eric Quigley of Kentucky beat J.P. Smith of Tennessee in the other semi. However, Smith did have good wins all tournament and looks to be out of his fall slump. Tennys Sandgren looks much better than last year and I think will play #3 ahead of Boris Conkic, who is not fully in form yet. |
