i think head youtek ig speed fits your requirements dats. i'm in strong like with my ozone tours which are a close fit minus the stiffness - 60 flex.

i've reached the same conclusion wookie. cept i want 2 of mine strung up with full syn gut and 2 with full poly or hybrid. poly when facing bashers and syn gut when facing pushers.

who strings your racquets tennismonkey? the only thing i tell my stringers are string it Strong or super strong.

strong for 5.5 and below while super strong is for anything from 5.5 to level 9000.

caring for string brand, make and everything else are for players of the WTA. def not for my 20 matched ps80 st vincints

Dats The Specs you mention sound eerily like a ProKennex Kinetic Pro 5G

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/ProK...RCPK-P5G2.html

Or the 7G which is just .5 longer.

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/ProK...-P7G.html#spec

And they are both cheap.

But I also know you like to tinker with silicone and lead and what not and they leave you no room to do so.

So the Head Youtek speed elite (the ones on sale for 140 each, but Im sure the new ones will be close to the same) may be one to look at. its 10.7strung weight would give you room to play. And the rest of the specs are pretty close.

Tried the head ig speed 18x20 today. Coach was impressed with my hitting right away but i think the diff was mainly full poly. I was hiitng 3ft above the net with good spin like he wants. but the racquet feels tweird and no plow. i volleyed great with it... but will still have.to demo 12 racquets when i get back. wish i could trust the specs on TW, but rdis100 was 12oz instead of 11.7..makes menervous to try other 11.7oz racquets.. guy at tennis place said i should try aerostorm tour..dunno. aaaaaagh...maybe extreme will be good enough..def cheaper!

Monkey..ive always liked ozone tour specs but not sure i would.like the ozone ports. Tried the o3 tour once and it had.no feedback at all. Mush. Maybe i try yours sometime..datsdemoday!!

demo list:
Yonex RDiS 200 MP
Yonx RDiS 100MP
Yonex Vcore 95
Yonex Vcore 98
Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Plus Mid+
Head YOUTEK Prestige MP
Wilson Six-One 95 BLX 18x20
Babolat Aero Storm Tour GT MP
Wilson K Factor KBlade 98

How come you have to demo racquets that you have already owned within the last year ? The Prestige MP is a real sleeper frame. Awesome feel and control, only issue for me was kick on the second serve, but I only had one day hitting with it.

Sappy, found a string perfect for your game. Terrific spin off the racquet (if it comes off the racquet), and a guaranteed low, low bounce on the other side of the net.

Make sure your stringer has a pair of heavy gloves.

hey mid-atlantic folk,
the job's sending me down to DC for a conference in mid-March, so being the hard-working nut that I am- I'm thinking "tennis first, work later".
Assuming weather's still cold, I'm leaning towards playing at the east potomac tennis center w/ball machine.
Any suggestions/advice? Anyone know what the rates are for a Thurs-Fr-Sat-Sun?

IIRC - rates are about $35-$38 an hour for the court - maybe be more or less depending on the time (peak/off-peak hours). Don't know what ball machine rates are.

If you can handle weather in 60-65 degree range Mid March would be fine to hit outside with.

I cant give you any info on clubs or ball machine rentals, but that what you should expect out of the weather.

You may get lucky and catch a couple of those early srping 75 degree days

or march blizzard.... its happened before!

auz: err... i dunno. i liked serving with the RDis100MP and the TW listed specs are spot on.. so maybe if i get a 3/8 instead of 1/2 it will weigh 11.7oz? dunno.
i wish i didn't want to demo 12-15 sticks, but i just want to try a ton and hopefully one will stick out as the perfect one!
(you might be familiar with this quest?!?!?!???)

although, i might just tinker with the xXxtremes some more, because if i can get 100" headsize and full poly, it should work no matter what the specs as long as i can get my feet in position. a combination of the IG Speed 18x20 and the Pure Storm Tour would be nice. easy swinging but heavy plow feel on impact! wut? i dunno. fark

i could set up a racquet bracquet to see which racquet wins the tournament:
----------------------------------------------------------------
2011 RACQUET BRACKET TOURNEY
----------------------------------------------------------------
1st Round:
Yonex RDIS100mp vs Yonex RDIS200
Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Plus vs Head YOUTEK Prestige MP
Babolat Aerostorm Tour GT vs Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT
Wilson Six-One 95 BLX 18x20 vs Wilson KBlade 98
-----------------------------------------------------------------
wild cards: uteX XxXtreme / IG Speed 18x20 w/ lead

downs_chris, if it isn't raining this weekend.. i could meet for a hit and i can order 4 of these frames for extended demo session! auz... can you resist???

still can't believe the local tennis shop during vacation doesnt ask for i.d. or credit card.. just a phone number and they give you 2 racquets for 2 days for FREE?!?!?! auzzie would love it there! the stringer was willing to give me his personal racquet to try too... real nice blokes!

Dats,

Whay dont you add a Solinco pro 8 to the list. And a leaded up Pacific Raptor and aformentioned Kennex frames. And a Volkl PB 9. And a PowerAngle Pro. And a Becker Delta Core Pro. And a Vantage VT321

Heck thats pretty much what I did back in 06. I was like WTF is Tecnifibre. But i tried it anyway and was instantly serving bombs and hitting mega topspin like I did everytother frame it just felt all around better. The pro at the joint wanted me to use Ncode 95. and some toher pro wanted me to use some head frame. But the TF 325 is GOAT of frames for me.

@JRStriker12
Thanks! error..error..does not compute..what's IIRC mean?

@sapient007
Thanks for the offer- but I think it'd be a boring day for you- I'll leave it at that.

@hollywood9826
Definitely- I'm a strictly 65 and above kind of player. I'm running indoors if it's lower than that. Weather's pretty similar here in NY.

IIRC= "IF I Remeber Correctly"

BTW- sapient007 may be a 5.0 in several things (happy hour, food, trolling ) but not in tennis.

geez, looking at the video i took of my hitting sessions, i really suXx with the yonex rdis but was blasting the ball pretty good with a 4 1/4 Head IG Speed 18x20. uh ohhhhz! time to hit the classifieds! the feel when ripping forehands was awesome but it was missing a little plow and mass on backhands and serves. hrmmm. guess i should demo it more. i think the smaller grip size allowed me to drop the racquet head below the ball more to get more spiiinz! dunno
maybe if zapvor asks nicely i will post a quick video of my awesomeness! can't make any promises though!

i think i need an RDC machine. trying to find racquets that are 11.7oz, 100", and low swingweight, but TW and RSI ( http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com...004/index.html http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com...904/index.html ) have totally different specs where swingweights differ by 25 points on some racquets. geez...
i know the rdis100 mid does NOT have a swingweight of 308. not a beast, but not a toy either. 320s seems more like it.
anywho... i guess i just gotta demo for myself.
