Default Adidas Barricade Team- why the bad rep?

I have a pair of these shoes and absolutely adore them. The durability may not be so great, but at $65 I'm hardly going to complain. But I hear they get a negative rep around here; many recommend the more expensive (but guaranteed) Barricade 6.0s. What don't people like about the Barricade Teams? Same question goes for the Tirands, since that's what the Teams really are...

Tirands fell apart before my eyes in literally a week of hard use. You get what u pay for. If you're (not you but 'you' in general) a 3.0 that plays once week have at the cheap shoes. But someone with real footwork and plays hard cannot wear cheap Adidas shoes. They're a big LOL joke.

But if you like them that's all that matters. Not what some random arrogant knobb says on the internet.

It's true that they don't seem very durable... I've only used them for 10 or so hours and there's already significant wear! I do play every day though, since it's tennis season at my high school.

Well for the same price you could get the Team Competition. Which is a B5 in a lighter package.

I have both Barricade 6.0 & Team, both are great shoes! Team is certainly an upgrade from the old Tirand 3. I have no negative feedback of either 6.0 or Team...

Sorry about the tension we had a week ago. I shouldn't have been so uptight and furious for no good reason. I guess that's how you create enemies right. As long as we're cool now.

The barricade team don't really look that good. Most people that i know usually buy shoes based on looks and style. Well i guess when you buy tennis shoes you want quality and style.

I have a pair, and I love them. Definitely money well spent.

I might be the only one, but I'd rate them higher than the 2k10's that are sitting in a lonely dark corner of my shoe cupboard!

I was like that at first when I saw the B5. I thought it looked like a boat.

Then the black silver B5 went on sale and said what the hell why not get them (my other shoe, the 3.1's hurt my foot)

For me, quality always trump style. I had the white / red B5 and now the white Team Competition.

I bought a pair of Barricade Team because my foot hurt from using the Barricade 6, due to the curvature of the front part of the last which was too pronounced for my medium wide feet. didn't have a problem with the Team and best of all they don't need a break in period and I've played about 2 mths with them. Only recently have I noticed the front of the shoe has depressed so much that my forefoot feels "airy" and bangs my toes when I brake hard. I normally wear 2 pairs of socks so it's the compression of the midsole and the thinning of the outsole that is causing the problems. Still if I can't find a better shoe that fits my foot, I may just buy another pair.

Buy an insole for your foot type- superfeet are great but there are cheaper alternatives. I replace my barricade insoles almost as soon as I buy them because they are so cheap and thin.

Man I love the Teams guys! Played two challenge sets with them today one against the first doubles team, which I won with my partner! Then a singles match against our best player, which I lost 6-4 :/ although I wasn't expecting to win honestly. To get back to the point, my movement was great though.
