Is that the same grandma that kicked me out of the house when the crabs were coming?
I give her props because she has the biggest window i've ever seen in a house. It like instead of a wall there a window that over the water. The whisky thing only helps her gain points The Question has all kinds of frames. I wonder how many Ping Pong paddles he has.

As I understand it the contract Im on has been paid upfront so Im coming in to work.
If anyone else is here for me to support is a different question. More than likely it will be business as usual only the Government civilians will end up working for free.

Dats,
It's 84, sunny and barely a cloud in the sky right now. I'm going to have quick bite at the bar by the pool and hit some tennis balls until sunset. When are you coming down? P.s. All you basketball fans. I think the Knicks will play the Heat in the first round of the playoffs. Think it's worth it to buy tickets and go? Anyone a Lebron fan? I guess I should start cheering for the heat now. Sup |

If it Heat vs Knicks you probably wont get more star power in a first round matchup. LeBron, Wade, Bosh vs Melo, Amare, and an aging Chauncey Billups. Amare could best Bosh, and Melo can score at will. But the Knicks coach is inept and will let Wade demolish Billups all day. Should fun games to watch though. There will be tons of scoring. If you can get some tix Id say go.

I dont mind somebody that dont eat crabs. That means more for me Thats was good day with some crappy tennis. But that may have been the best Pizza I ever got from Pats. What was it Pepperoni, Sausage and extra cheese? Next time I'm telling you Ercole's in Perryville will crush Pat's.

Ok...so I'm feeling my age after a brutal cardio tennis class...now I'm sitting here contemplating napping as I drink a rum(cherry) & coke....

Darn. Me too.
Oh wait. I have to go to work tomorrow too. Oh well! Hope all are well here. Lost an important one this morning. Line #1 Dubs, with my fav/regular partner. She got hurt/injured 3 points in. Thought we could work through it. But we couldn't. They were just too consistent and I wasn't good enough to pick up the slack. Dang. 6-2, 6-4. Smarts. Haven't lost a regular season match in awhile. We'll bounce back. Sorry all you gov't types...are still on the payroll. Just pickin' atcha a bit. I was a "gov't type" for many of my "paid" career years. Wish both sides could just get along.

But I'm not complaining. This is a lifestyle we actively chose for ourselves. And it will change as our daughters start to go to school. I should have a little time to do the things that haven't been done for almost 5 years, like regularly clean our house and do spruce-up projects to our slowly aging home. I'll tell you this, though, should I ever find myself in the position of having to go back to work, I'll have one heck of a resume. Financial management, operations, training/teaching/mentoring...if I just put what it is that I do in business terms, it's all good stuff. When hubs had the misfortune to be laid off last year, and it was 6-months before he found something somewhat comparable, he saw my "job" on a daily basis. He knew I wasn't sitting home on the couch eating bon-bons all day but had no idea of the amount of chaos 2 small kids can make (and I have to corral or clean up behind). He does now and often thanks me for my efforts and admits he doesn't know how I do it. Before becoming Mommy, I had a 20-year career in both civil engineering and IT...much of it with government (local and state). And hate it when I hear or read about "cushy" gov't jobs or slack gov't workers. Sure there were a few folks in The System who didn't pull their weight, but that's true in the private sector as well. Been there, too, and saw that. Most of my fellow co-workers were diligent and often quite passionate about what they did. Rant over. Still bemoaning my/our loss yesterday. Gotta learn to let it go, AQ.

AQ -- you're right about watching kids being ridiculously draining. many a time i've stayed home with my 2 sick kids and it's exhausting. i look forward to going back to work. agree too about most gov workers being hard working, diligent folks. sadly the minority give the rest a bad name.

^^^ AQ and TM, agreed on all counts.
How old are your kids? Mine are 9, 6, and 3. Two girls and a boy, in that order. We saw how beat up we were when we had our first that we told ourselves we had to space them out to 3 years apart otherwise we'd go crazy. We also didn't want them to be spaced too far apart either. For us, the 3 year difference makes it much more tolerable as the older kid doesn't need much attention by the time the younger one comes out. |
