She's mentally strong(so far) like Chang but the similarity ends there. Sharapova is one of the tallest on the WTA tour and has some of the biggest serves and groundstrokes around in the womens game. Chang never had such weapons.

The only similarities is they won slams at young ages.. But that doesnt mean anything.. THe WTA girls always win slams in their teens .. like Hingis..

Why would she be the next Chang? Is she the size of Henin?

Default who knows

I think she has tremendous upside unless the match today was her peak, but the true test of her ability will most likely be at the us open, especially if a healthy Henin Hardenne and Clijsters are back on tour. That makes things a lot more difficult when you have to face consecutive top tier players.

I sure hope so. I hope she improves 7% every year, adds completely new aspects to her game and leaves everything she's got on the court in every match for the rest of her career.

No Maria will never be a Micheal Chang. She is much taller, about 4 feet taller than Micheal, and she has better hooters than Micheal. You can't compare.

Quite frankly the comparison between Chang and Sharapova is insulting, to both players. Normally I try not to take offense at posts but this is one of them. If Sharapova never wins a Grand Slam agin, so be it, but to disparage her fine effort and victory with comparisons to Michael Chang is sickening.
