Default Opening up a tipsters section on the forum?

I don't know whether the Admin / Mods would be in favor of this but I've been contemplating it for a while.

It would definitely bring more custom to the forum.

Posts could give their tips, provide reasoning, the stake they believe is worth risking and the bookmaker's website.

I am from the UK, I know the staff team are American (as are the majority of posters) and gambling in the US offline is prohibited but would you see this as a foreseeable idea for the future perhaps?

Pretty much.

Wouldn't do any harm and I'd be more than happy to mod it.

I already invented a Prediction League which is now ran brilliantly by user Seffina .. it's been running for up to three years now, very smoothly, not issues whatsoever.

May be its time the members added their own stamp on TennisWarehouse?

I would say no due to the fact that Gambling is Illegal(mostly). I mean this is a tennis forum, I don't see a point in a whole section of a forum to be dedicated for gambling. I mean maybe a thread in Odds&Ends would be an okay place for some tips, but nothing more than just a thread. Besides, you can just look at the pro discussion boards, and here other posters' intakes and their predictions/reasonings and use that info to place bets.

Any other people, other than people who use the weak argument because sports gambling is illegal in a couple of states in America it would be wrong stuff.

Ever been to or even heard of vegas? Lol

Did you even read what i posted? I mentioned it was ileagal, but my main argument was that this is a tennis forum(a forum that Tennis Warehouse has paid for us to use).

It's against federal law for websites to take sports bets over the Internet. Tennis-Warehouse.com is U.S. based. Do you think TW would get into the sticky situation of being involved with providing a place for individuals to share information about sports gambling?

You are ill informed. Information: Live it. Love it. Google it.

Thanks for getting my betting thread deleted.

Stuck your beak where it didn't belong, the Admin got scared after you audacious claims, nothing would have happened, these are personal opinions shared on a forum, be it a tennis forum. Many forums do this and some are United States based. Being US or not is regardless, its the World Wide Web.

I've seen many American Football tipping going on, ON United States company sites.

Don't see how I could have gotten your betting thread deleted when I couldn't be bothered to go look for it to report it. You're the one who brought it up and called attention to it.
However, I am completely against sports betting so I'm glad it got deleted.

I'm not familiar with football nor it's websites, so perhaps I am ill-informed there myself. Moreover, just because something is on the internet doesn't mean it gets a free pass. Sports betting online is illegal in the U.S. If a site is based here then it can be shutdown by the feds for sports betting. It's also illegal for U.S. banks to process online sports bets.

You are ill-informed, that means ignorant really doesn't it?

You are against it and are glad it got shut down, could you get any more open minded and self centered? How can you be AGAINST something such as gambling anyway its not immoral, your just going with your countries norm on sports gambling I feel. If you were brought up in the UK, your feelings would be different. Glad they shut it down, HA, get a life.

You do realize that the same could be said for you right?

I didn't say I was against gambling in general. I'm against sports betting.
The lottery is a great way to bring in state revenue. As well, If someone wants to go to a casino and bet on a game of chance I have no problem with that. Outside of sports I do not care.

And yes. You are ignorant, lacking knowledge of U.S. Federal law concerning online gambling. Just as I'm ignorant, complete lack of knowledge, of UK law concerning online gambling/sports betting.

Lottery gambling is boring. No skill involved what-so-ever.

Sports gambling is fun and actually challenging.

And unless you are arbing it's just a matter of time until you lose betting against the bookies / bookies making markets on the exchanges.

Whereas I do occasionally enjoy punting on tennis, and used to arb when I had more time / opportunities were easier, I don't think these forums are the place for gambling discussion.

Essentially the forums are funded / provided by Tennis Warehouse and at a very basic level there is little to no incentive for this family friendly company to run any perceived risk associated with a gambling subforum.
