I agree with you. I see all these people saying the his should have kept his cool etc.. It is tough enough to talk in front of a classroom in school or college now, imagine 20.000, Plus Millions on TV... |

Thanks to ESPN and their 'time constraints' I did not get to see the award ceremony. So Roger got weepy huh?

You should have watched it live, you would have been able to see the whole thing. Glad I got it on tape.

He could have mentioned her. I normally wouldn't think it would matter since she's a 17 year old that he's dated for 2 months, but she had tears after he lost so she's obviously a part of his team.
Federer's tears sort of show that he's not the guy everyone thinks he is. When he drops a set or makes a single unforced error, people say, "oh, he's getting lazy, he's just fooling around." Federer had doubts about winning the tournament after losing the Masters, losing the exhibition to Haas, getting into trouble already in the 4th round. He was nervous before the semis with Kiefer and very nervous before the final. He struggled in the first 2 sets to hold his serve and actually thought he was going to lose. It's not surprising that when Rod Laver gave him his 7th Grand Slam trophy and his name was put in the same vein as Sampras and Laver that the tears started to flow. Winning is as hard for him as it is for anyone else, he's just stronger in mind and stronger in talent. |
