Has anyone done Rushfit? It seems like a mix between P90X and Insanity....They are coming out with new workout programs before we can even do them all!

Here's a great comparisson between P90X, Rushfit and Insanity:

A quick update:
I started Week 8. It's supposed to be a recovery week, but I'll just continue doing Phase 2 workouts. I'm noticing better results than the first time around, and it has to do with two things: A) eating better and eating more protein B) I increased weights to 25 lb (per dumbbell).

I am still looking into Rushfit, and it seems like a fun thing to do for a week or two, but not sure if I would commit to it for full 8 weeks. I'll definitely do a week of it after I'm done with the second round of P90X (September 11, but I might take a week off, so it will be September 18th when I start).

Good luck with that. You could just get that all for free by just working out smart. What a shame falling for that scam.

So you are suggesting that all of this is just common knowledge? I'd have to mightily disagree with you. What's wrong w/ purchasing a video series of workouts. It's like having a personal trainer right there w/ you for constant encouragement in your home.

It would be like me saying everyone should save their money and not take golf or tennis lessons because they could just train "smart." If it works and it helps you w/ personal improvement, it is not a scam! A scam is something that takes your money and doesn't work.

Maybe you should give P90X a try. I bet you'd get better results by following the program than you get by doing your current workout.

Finally, if you don't have anything useful to add to the conversation, don't come on here and spam what has been a useful and motivational thread for some of us. I find it nothing more than disrespectful and rude.

Actually, No. Most of that stuff is COMMON KNOWLEDGE. Go to a gym and pick up some weights. Its that easy. And their is no way that I would get a better workout anyway. You guys are just wasting your money when you can just look online on techniques. The continual repetitions of what he does burns more muscles than it creates. Using that many reps ruins the body when you havent worked out in a long time. Plus, it isn't spam when its better to not waste your money on that program. It is informational of what I have said. Free youtube videos + sites vs expensive videos. Even if they didn't go through all the muscle groups and focused on a main 10. It shouldn't matter to you guys should it.

If you had the real intention of getting stronger that is. Than you wouldn't need a bs "trainer" to help you out in the first place. "One that does not seek knowledge itself, cannot be taught by others."

Panda,

yes, Tweeter, wikipedia and blogs are the most reliable source of information....not!

I'm not saying that P90X is a magic program. I'm just saying that to me, as a beginner, it's worth $80 to have everything at one place (and have at least some authority standing behind the program), rather than spend 200 hours reading 50 different blogs to figure out the same thing at the end.

I'm not taking working out too seriously like you do. For me, it's a fun thing to do, and I do it to stay healthy and improve my tennis game a bit.

Whatever motivates people to come back for more....
I have done all 10 dvds, however I am not really following their 90 day plan. I took days off when I went on vacation and other days off when I played tennis. I like Tom Holland a little more than Horton who is a little too goofy for me. I didn't buy p90x so he may have been different on that vid series.

The workouts are not easy, but they are shorter- 30-45 minutes. You can adjust the difficulty by using lighter weights or modified moves. I think it is a great deal compared to the retail price of p90x. Some of the workouts left me really sore. It is true that all these maneuvers and workouts you can learn just from reading different sites on the internet. But for your average Joe it is is much easier having someone motivate you and tell you what to do than just try to workout by yourself with self motivation. You can do it the expensive way with a personal trainer or you can do it the cheaper way with a personal trainer on a dvd.

So basically this is a great deal at $2/dvd and probably worth getting even if you have done P90x. Most of the reviews have said the workouts are very different. The only thing to note is there is no yoga or stretching dvd. Also the cardio workout is basically using lighter weights at a faster pace.

Or, you could have just asked where to go. Where people who are top competitors in the world post videos where I used to go. 80 dollars on a video is just too much. Buy a new racket with that money >.>. So if your interested just hit me a pm and ill give you the links.

The most important part of any fitness routine is consistency. If P90 is something that you will do consistently then it is totally worth 90 or 300 dollars.

A quick update:
I finished Week 9 of my second round. This week will be challenging because I am going to vacation for 4 days out of town, but hopefully they will have a decent gym in the hotel.
I'm down to 184 pounds. My goal is to get to 180.

I finished Insanity and have to say that for anyone to say that these workout programs are a waste of money, that's just not the case. It's all about what's worth it to each individual, what makes it easy for someone to stick to a program. For me, I got Insanity because my girlfriend and I were always laughing at the cheesy infomercial, but then the more I looked at the workouts, the more they looked like very good modifications on a series of workouts I did with a personal trainer a year or so ago that involved no weights or anything. I loved the idea of that simplicity, so I went searching and found someone local selling the DVD set for just 50 bucks.

After completing the nine-week program, I recommend it wholeheartedly. I loved the simplicity of just doing something at home when I had a spare hour rather than having to go out to the gym for the usual wait-for-the-open-machine routine, and having a calendar regimen/workout schedule to stick to kept me far more disciplined than going to the gym usually does. The end result: lost weight, added muscle (especially in my legs) and a far improved overall fitness level that has given me a quicker first step and much greater endurance. By no coincidence, my tennis also dramatically improved and I even just won my first league title.

Insanity is fantastic for tennis, because it truly works the leg muscles more so than anything else and also puts an emphasis on body control and balance, which are two key bases for tennis and areas of my fitness I'd neglected before.

Now, working in tennis WHILE doing Insanity simultaneously was tricky. There were times when I felt absolutely taxed in a third set (if I'd worked out the same day) but I remained careful -- making sure I had good shoes and, most importantly, was extremely careful about nutrition and giving myself plenty of healthy calories to fuel myself. (once I started concentrating on nutrition, my energy level spiked upward to match the craziness)

Anyway, just some thoughts on Insanity. Full-on recommendation here. It's all about finding what workout program works for you. Insanity may not be for everyone, but for me it was great. I'll probably start another modified round of it soon.

Thanks, goober, for the excellent review.

I like to mix up workouts, as I am taking a break from P90X and Insanity to try out Kettleworx.

Maybe I will get these DVDs and try the RushFit as well.
