Mac/Bjorkman WIN 6-1 7-5

Fun Match to watch. I have not been this excited in a long time. That second set had me on the edge of my seat. Especially with this new no ad format. Mac serve and volleying was fantastic. Bjorkman was on fire with a lot of his returns.

I thought going aussie on Mac was a good move. Did anyone notice how many times mac returned to the net man (straight up the middle)? I'm not sure if it was Mac's strategy or if he was off. He seemed to send in a lot of high returns, which luckily the opp. didn't put away too often. Anyway-- fun match can't wait to see the next one.

I'm so pleased to hear that Mac is playing so well. It was a blast to watch him in La Jolla, and it seems his skills are still really sharp.

BTW, I love what Santoro wrote about this in his blog. In case you didn't see it, I'll post it here:

I was at the match tonight. The first set was fairly boring because Mac and Bjorkman were blowing them out. The second set was much more exciting, though. After seeing tonight's match I think Mac and Bjorkman stand a chance at winning the whole thing. It will be fun to watch.

Im soo glad to hear that Mac & Bjorkman are winning in dubs !
I was great to see the Mac's vs the Bryans in San Diego last week and Im sure Mac & Bjorkman could really make it interesting for the Bryans. What a way to get interest back to dubs ! Just think how special it could be for this team to be playing Wimbledon ...

Maybe Mac can even get Steffi Graf to play some mixed dubs, again ...
Think Andre would like to have Steffi also playing again ?
If not, I think Martina Hingus would make another nice mixed combo for the old schoolers

In singles, I think Mac could still take out quite a few of the pros. If you can't hit great passing shots against him, you're toast.
