Great match from Fed, feel sorry for Stan must always be hard playing Fed for many reasons especially in Basel

maybe the umpire wanted to give the point to fed cause he was irritated by wawrinka falling during his swing. but fed was right the point had to go to wawrinka. stan probably didnt even realize fed had missed that backhand after he fell
the confusion started because i think fed asked "40-0!?" in disbelief instead of "40-15!?" after the wrong call from the umpire and because of that stan and the umpire both thought fed wanted to argue why it wasnt 40-0 as he may have forgotten his DF. but in truth fed was arguing that it shouldve been 30 all and it just took a while till the others realized what he was talking about lol funny scene anyway |

Sure Fed's 2006 was amazing and I could definitely understand some people claiming it is on par or better than Novak's 2011 (especially if Novak doesn't win WTF) but for me personally even if Novak fails to win a match till the end of the year it's still better than even Fed's 2006. I value all surface dominance a lot and Novak this year won a big title on everything from HC to clay and grass (yes I consider masters to be big titles as well, Novak's wins in Rome and Madrid complement very well the rest of his season), not to mention that going undefeated since AO till RG is mind boggling, again the difference isn't much, we're talking about some of the most dominant seasons ever in tennis here afteral but my pick for the best season I have seen is Novak's 2011.

Fed played 97 matches in 2006 and lost only 5, Novak's only played 72 and lost 4, thats why i think Fed's is better

Let's put idea of Djokovic having best season ever 2 bed: with Novak's 4th loss of 2011, John McEnroe's 82-3 record in 1984 still stands 1 hour ago |

The loss to Nishikori sums it up I think cause I don't see Djokovic winning both Paris and WTF unless he surprises us all.

Djoker: 3 set win over Baggy y'day, no hint of injury. 3 set loss today to Kei N, and out comes the injury stuff.
I really wish the joker would suck it up and credit the opponent, instead of shrouding the whole thing with retirements and injuries. Every loss this year except for possibly FO has been surrounded by injury talk. This is what makes it hard to root for the joker. I am not saying he wasn't injured, but its the PR stuff and how it can undermine the opponents victory. Nadal has understood this and after a loss he refuses to be drawn into injury talk (See 2011 AO SF loss to Ferrer).
