Hopefully the next coming of Luis Flores and Tony Ruiz. We've had some good gets from south of the border.

Judging by his results, he is equivalent to any top 10 blue chip domestic recruit, maybe top 5. He should get into the top 3-4 spots at Georgia next year as a freshman, which will help their lineup.

Wagland beat Vinsant(who beat Bangoura recently) in a match. Wagland could be top 5 in the line-up as well Last edited by Clemson_tennis : 11-14-2011 at 06:46 PM. |

As for their lineup, I'm interested to see where KU lands. He was 2/3 when healthy at Illinois. I don't think he would fall lower than 3 at Georgia. I definitely agree with you about their middle of the lineup not being explosive. Probably Spencer, Doumbia, Singh, Pasha, Taboada, Pieters. |

Adding Nunez ans Wagland will be great. both of them have top 30 in the nation potential.
Not to mention we will be adding Fratangelo to the top of the line-up next year.

Throughout this conversation there has been little reference to Campbell Johnson. Was 9-2 in the fall and last year had a nice win over Jomby of Kentucky who people on this board hold in high esteem. He had to play behind some great players last year, but may get an opportunity this year. He can play! He was a top 20 junior and has really improved over the last year.

I could see him probably sharing some time at #6, but UGA is just so deep. No real dominant player, but everyone is just so solid.

You sound like you definately know that Pasha is playing 6. I have heard repeatedly that Johnson and Pasha are neck and neck for the 6 spot. Don't be suprised if the dawgs go with Johnson. Not the no brainer The Wreck thinks it is. In my opinion after watching lots of matches this fall, Johnson is the better of the two right now. Not saying Pasha won't be by the time the postseason rolls around, but right now Johnson has the edge..

Who has the most legit shot at playing #2?...KU, Doumbia, Nacho?? If their is one position UGA might be hard-pressed to find wins this season, it might be here.

I would put Doumbia at 2 and Singh at 3. If Singh starts to show some great results then he could move to 2. He is doing very well in the India futures. But he has yet to show up to play on the college stage. I agree that it will be a weaker spot for UGA this year but Doumbia can win at 2. He won't be that overmatched

Yea, he seems like a grinder.
I think the thing with Georgia this year is that no one player seems overwhelming at a particular position, but they're gonna have that home court advantage in May. It doesn't matter if you're USC, UVA, or OSU. A match in that atmosphere is gonna be tough. |
