defeated Kuznetsova 76, 62 today(and this girl & Myskina were winning majors while Hingis was doing commentary. sigh.)
beat Washington & Schiavone earlier this week, both by 61,62 score. Hope she doesn't get too tired from playing so much to get ranking up(only at 44 as of this week) |

Hingis is kicking arse and taking names. I'm really impressed with her win against Kuznetsova....I thought Svetlana might come out on top with her big win over Mauresmo last week. Just goes to show you that you never know what you're going to get when 2 players are meeting for the 1st time.

She moves from 44 to 32 just by reaching the semis in Doha? That seems like a rather big move, didn't know there were that many points.

Hingis is unbelievable. She deserves to be in the top 5. I don't know if she can beat Mauresmo, but it'll be an interesting match.

Does Hingis have a chance against Mauresmo? I think that would be her biggest win to date.

Another component is the mental side. I think despite her AO title, mauresmo isn't as mentally stable as she would like others to believe. I have seen her wobble a few times in matches after the AO. Hingis on the other hand has all the wind in her back and for sure is not one to be intimidated!

Mauresmo is at the top of her game and the WTA so it should be interesting to see if Hingis can break her rythm ? The way Mauresmo is hitting the ball now, she will continue to beat anybody on the WTA. Great challenge for Martina and nothing to lose even in a loss.

According to the match reports Hingis looked physically tired and was missing a lot. Too bad...I think she might be overtraining/overplaying for someone who's been gone for 4 years. Hope she can recover for Indian Wells.
