What with London knee-deep in snow, I've just been sledging with the family in the local park/heath. Actually, when we first arrived I grabbed hold of an old 'tea-tray' type thing (think they're called 'snow gliders') my daughter had, and proceeded to go bombing down the crowded hill at an insane speed, sending startled kiddies and parents scrambling to avoid the this here incoming rocket propelled goon. I eventually ended up going a*** over t** and saturated from head to to toe in the soggy white wet stuff.

Aggro, I've seen that on some wilson and prince frames, I always thought it was to do with getting the frames to spec or strenghtening a handle.
Of course i've been known to be wrong!
Thanks Dave.
I guess that's it then, not going to mess around with removing the bumper guard so will have to plod on. Will lower my string tension in the nblades to see what happens. Currently at 54lbs with a generic stiff string (Cordatec syngut). Will go lower with a softer one when this dies. Might have to cut it out though I'm loathe to waste resources.

Just got back from a hit in the freezing cold - was I transiently mad??

No, thankfully. Looks like tennis isn't going to be much of an option certainly for the earlier part of this week.

Dave, BTW, just a quick frame qsn. Re the PT630 and the capless designed in Austria PT280, presuming you've played both, what were the differences?

I had one of each last summer, both were designed in austria well the ones i had and allowing for the string differences really not a lot in it to be honest.I don't remember which one but one was more head heavy (maybe the difference of caps over grommets?)the caps made it (630) feel stiffer but i presume if you took off hte grommets on the 280 and put caps on it that would change. If you like one I didn't think there was enough of a difference to dislike the other.I didn't stick with it because finding them in good nick seemed to be hard to do and so many people were chasing them.
Was the 280 just the non USA release name or were there other differences?

Agreed. Did anyone else watch Ireland v Wales yesterday? I guess a lot of us will have watched Chelsea v United but if you did you missed something really special.

Cheers Dave. I actually have both but have hit very little with the 280 over the years. The PT630 on the other hand, I've hit with loads. But, yes, my slightly vague memories of the 280 are the same as yours really. BTW, I'm not sure re your closing question. I'm a bit off the pace with ATM with this stuff. Think I better get recap and relearn all this on the PT630 thread (all 2 million pages or whatever. )

Finally managed to get a proper hit. Indoors!
Worked out all my muscle groups, known and unknown.
Hit the ball really well.
Ah, good times.

I've struggled it's the price, it seems with real genuine gut you mostly get what you pay for.Bought some cheaper stuff once and it snapped while i tied the knot.(that was annoying)
I bought some off e**y once and it was so think it wouldn't go through the grommets.
Babolat vs was the best i remember using tbh.Pricey though.

Bloody hell Uk racketaholics talking????? whatever next????

We missed snow here, so Ive managed to actually get on the court, although froze doing so.

FTG, Dave is always correctamundo, you need to understand what you are after before you buy, always go under your ideal spec so you can leave room for mods/og/leather etc. I find 20g under is good to go and gives me enough room to add stability, sw and balance. Take note of balance also and keep it close to what you like and if you dont like too much sw then dont go buying nblades!

LOL! Meags, I had no idea what my ideal sw was! That's the only thing I think can explain my tiredness during a session - along with my fitnesslevel.

I played well the last 2 days with my nBlades though. Still need more power though I think technique is key..

not very powerful that string although I like the string when it was pretty dead, really plush feel for cheap tat.

Tried lower tensions?

Last summer I got some gut on the bay, it was called "Performaxx". There's a thread on here about it. Think I paid about £19 posted (from the US). I thought it was pretty good, but I've only used natty gut twice so I haven't got much to compare it to.
