Judging from the record breaking number of visitors on Wednesday (I was there) that the tournament had, I think that Krajicek got on his knees and begged Federer to play something on centercourt, so I don't understand why you are referring to arrogance.

I was also there tonight (Federer - Nieminen) and that was a decent match. Nieminen was trying his best, but at the deciding moments Federer just upped the level and was clearly better than Federer. Entertaining match.

I also saw Davydenko playing on Wednesday (against P.H. Mathieu) and tonight (against Gasquet). Davydenko was a slow starter as always, but once he got into the match his level was really impressive, although his level at the end of the match against Gasquet was even higher than on Wednesday.

The semis tomorrow should be really interesting.

My arrogance reference was a joke. He's just amazingly nice and cool to show up and play an extra supertiebreak.

I am a big Federerfan and got to see him live yesterday as well. It was my first time, so I had the most amazing day. I was there all day and slightly overdressed as a fanatic I liked his match a lot, and saw a lot of things you really underestimate on TV. One thing was that there are hardly any easy putaway balls out there. On TV, many balls seem easy, but here you really see every spin and every difficulty and how quick you have to move to get to the ball even. I found the match amazing.

Have finals tickets too, so semis should be really interesting. Hope Roger gets through. Fed-Berd or Fed-Delpo should be great

They played 2 supertiebreaks.
Fed won the first 11-9, than volunteered to do a second. Lost 10-6

Yeh I found out later. Also saw another poster reporting that Fed offered to play the exho ... not surprising since he would have known 99.99 per cent of the people who came that day wanted specifically to see him play

Aha, I didn't get the joke, sorry for that.

Congratulations on seeing Federer for the first time. I am a longtime visitor at the ABN AMRO WTT, so for me it was a long time ago that i saw him play. I saw him play a few times since he was a regular participant at the tournament up to 2005. Still thrilled though to see him again and it was quite an experience to see him twice this week.

Good for you that you have tickets for the finals too. When I bought my tickets (back in may 2011) it wasn't known yet that Federer would come, otherwise I most certainly would have gotten tickets for the final, even though I never buy tickets for the final.

Funny thing I heard about earlier this week: There was an actual match going on on centercourt, but there were more people at the practiece courts watching Federer practice, than there were people watching the match on centercourt. So yeah, Federer attracts quite a crowd.. I wonder if they will break the record of most visitors.

I initiated the thread as I am a Dutch Federerfan who never actually got to see Federer play. I went twice this week. The quarters against Nieminen and again today against JMDP. I actually loved it both times. Was totally worth the money, the day, the travel (I live in the other side of the country). I had a great time and so did Roger I guess. He's even better in real live.

Glad to hear you had a great time watching Roger live mate, I'm envious . That 1st set against Delpo was really something, vintage Fed.

Thanks a lot. Friend I went with got some pictures, if he sends them to me, I'll try and upload some.

That 1st set against Del Potro really was unbelievable. I've seen Federer play great many times on TV, but it really looks even better in real live. I just didn't know how good that set was, because to me, Delpo wasn't playing bad. It is nice to hear that the people who can judge it (the TV-watchers, who have plenty of comparison material) found that it was 'vintage' as well.

Really cool. If you ever get the chance, you should go see him.
I know you're from former Yugoslavia and he never plays there, but maybe you were wanting to visit Rome or Madrid, or London once anyway. Then you should totally go during the tournament and get tickets for a Federer match. It was my best tennisexperience ever (followed by the last 8 days of RG09).

Congrats on the experience, I bet you were smiling on the way home I saw del Po and Fed in the 2009 USOpen finals and the noticeable difference was that how quiet the ball and the footwork on Fed's side compared to del Po, but awesome tennis nevertheless.

Yeah, thanks! Saw it already. This year has made quite some people enthusiastic for next year I guess. Last year there were not many tickets were sold when Federer announced he'd come, we could get tickets easily. That was announced in May!

I did the same as this year; Bought tickets for the whole friday, and the final.

@ Rommil: it was amazing all around. What strikes me about pro tennis in general is how precize every shot is. The net clearance is amazingly little. On TV you never really see how low these balls are. While on TV a lot of balls look like 'easily attackable', in real life, you see every spin, and the speed etc. and are just amazed at pretty much every winner. Federer's first set was the most special. He just kept hitting winners at moments you would expect him to start crumbling under pressure. He was rock solid off both wings, which is amazing, cause what you see in real life is how close he actually hits to the baseline and how little margin for error there actually is.
