how can you gain any control?
Depends on your strokes really! I used an Aerostorm Cortex, and it worked fairly well. I'm not sure how tension loss will effect results, but I enjoyed it a lot!

Control wasn't much different from stringing at 50lbs IMHO. It just had a bit more pop.

Do you use the regular or GT Fuji?

Just regular! I have it leaded up to 13.0oz and 6 points HL.

Wow, 38 pounds with a multi. Can't imagine I'd ever get used to that.

It's definitely stroke dependent!

If you have any spare multi laying around, I would recommend trying it, it's a very sweet feel. (I play pretty old school tennis, and it felt like I could play my game, just with a lot less effort on my part.) Serve returns were probably my favorite as I just had to get a stick on it to send it rocketing back.

(I lost 6-3,6-4, but it was more user error then anything. My opponent was very good.)

My strokes are whippy and new school. Don't think that tension would work for me.

Nope. You'd need almost wood racket strokes to use that tension.

I will be very interested to read your full review.

PPA is in the Exo3 tour 18x20 I have been demoing. First time hitting with that raquet and first time with PPA too.

Liked the stick and the string too. There have been some rocket launches as it feels lively but in general good spin, touch, and controllable power. 13 sets in and the string is pretty toast now. There was a significant decline in quality today compared with the last time I played on thursday. The strings are about to go. Look as though they have been sanded down in the sweet spot. Really flattened out and thin.

Think I will be purchasing the raquet for its arm friendliness and plan to test some other multis in it. PPA has been fairly impressive though.

So far there is a lot to like except for returning hard deep shots. Then again, the string is not named Prince Defender.

NXT is on its last leg. One more hard shot and that's all she wrote after a little more than 7 hours of play. The good news is that it's fraying on the 10th cross string of my extended length 16x20 PK Ki 5x. I'm hitting closer to the sweespot thanks to the extra half inch!

So I picked up the racquet with Prince Premier LT and hit with it for an hour. Mikeler's memory is pretty amazing! It does feel a tad stiffer than PPA, and his review several months ago was spot on. I was missing NXT for about the first 45 minutes, but PLT seemed to get better. I think I prefer NXT at this point, but PLT is still a very good string that I don't plan to cut out anytime soon. NXT feels more gut-like, and I feel more connected to the ball. Other than that, these two premium strings play very similarly. PLT lost about 6.2% tension compared to when the racquet was shipped to me, meaning that's in addition to the initial tension loss, which is data I don't have. It's a fairly steep loss after the first hit. That helps explain the difference in feel after the break-in period.

LT seemed to really stiffen up after about 3 matches and just did not feel good anymore after that. I'm looking forward to trying regular NXT out next month.

I agree, I think that is why I love the stuff.

Soft strings in my racquet make me lose ball feel and play inconsistent.

I do get more power with it at 59#s (this tension also allows for the tension drop to kick in and the string just gets better).

Most multis move a lot, break kind of fast and do not generate a ton of spin. The 17 gauge RIP was moving, but still had insane spin and played like a poly in that regard.

Interested in seeing how the 16 gauge works.

That's good to know. I'll keep on top of the tension loss with RacquetTune. Loss of tension should correlate to loss of elasticity.

It sounds like 16 gauge might work better for you because of the durability and less movement. Nothing I've measured comes close to RIP Control 16 on tension maintenance. You might even want to drop the tension a bit on it because you won't notice any drop.

RIP must be huge around these parts because it is sold out everywhere I try to buy it. I have some coming on order from TW, but I wanted to try and get more locally..not happening today at least.

Prince Premiere Attack 16 at the moment. Got a hard hitter on tap for tomorrow night and just played one yesterday, so we'll see if she makes it through the evening. After that breaks it will be:

1. Signum Pro Micronite 16
2. Boris Becker Pulse 16
3. Klip Venom 16
4. Kirschbaum Touch Multifibre
5. Wilson NXT 16

Then probably back to the Mikeler Matchup.

I know the stringers down there, I can ask them what is going on.
