She is playing ping pong left handed
 I heard that when she was young her coached wanted her to play right handed even though she was equally as good with her left hand, the reason was that it would benefit her backhand. And judging by Wimbledon it certainly did help her backhand. I know theory is true, as playing golf left handed has helped my 2 handed backhand because of the similar swing technique. -Liam |

She is naturally left-handed!
She wasn't quite as good with her right hand when she was young (if they were the same then they would have probably chosen left handed) so they worked on the right!!! |

Uhm, I don't think it's that hard to play ping pong w/ either hand... I mean, it is ping poing. But I did hear that about her left hand, so I guess this does further prove that claim.

I had a player on my HS team a while back that played ping-pong with a two-handed backhand just like his tennis stroke. It was pretty fun to see it, but like in tennis, no one could beat him LOL!

Maria playing on TRL I'd say probably wasn't a competitive match. Sure, if you're seriously playing ping pong and putting all sorts of topspin, then you'd probably use your dominant hand.

I was ther at trl that day. she looke dhot but i am sorry to say she sucked at ping pong. she better stick to tennis. did i meansion she looked HOT and she tauched my hand

Okay guys... if you weren't playing a "serious" game of ping pong, would you naturally go and grab the paddle with your off-hand? I don't think so. I've seen and played a lot of non-serious ping pong playing and I've never seen anyone step up to the table and start playing with their off-hand.
There was that one scene in The Princess Bride where both of the sword fighters started off using their off-hand and then as it got more serious they revealed that they were playing with their off-hand and then switched to their natural hand... |

My 13 year old tournament playing son plays ping pong with a 2-handed backhand and tennis with a one handed backhand. He's very good in both sports.
